One has to wonder if Web of Fear special edition is far behind? I don't want to see that unless it's got an animated version of the missing episode, to be honest. It could easily be why we are getting this first.

I'll pass on this and any future classic series releases that aren't classic series box sets. May as well wait until the Special Editions are included in the sets. I don't think we're really getting any more special editions other then this. The Revisitations sets didn't sell as well as expected and this seems to be more of a rare case given the rush with the original release.

It's a must-buy for me. I love the Second Doctor era and any further insights into the era are incredibly welcome for me

The Restoration sets didn't sell as well as expected and this seems to be more of a rare case given the rush with the original release. I wouldn't be surprised if this SE release is happening because of the rumoured classic series Blu-ray box sets so that there's special features for each complete story in each set.

Extras: Remastered episodes - even though all episodes were restored in 2013 for the previous DVD release, Peter Crocker from the Restoration Team is using advances in technology since then to go over each one with a fine tooth comb to ensure they are now presented in the best possible quality for this special edition. Treasures Lost And Found - With so much information now available about every Doctor Who serial, it's not easy to learn anything new, so Toby Hadoke embarks on an exciting treasure hunt to find out all he can about the production. Along the way he'll interview some of the cast and crew including Frazer Hines, Mary Peach and David Troughton - who made his first TV appearance in this serial as an extra. Recovering The Past – The Search For The Enemy Of The World - a brand new interview with the episode hunter Philip Morris, we hear how he tracked down the last surviving film copy of the serial to a dusty room in the African desert. Remembering Deborah Watling - family, friends and colleagues pay tribute to Debbie Watling who played Victoria Waterfield, companion to Patrick Troughton’s doctor. Audio commentaries on all six episodes - contributors include Frazer Hines, Mary Peach, Gordon Faith, Milton Johns and Sylvia James. Moderator is Simon Harries. Production subtitles on all six episodes - written by Martin Wiggins. Now that's what I call extras! Comprehensive. Also, a photo gallery, and scripts for each episode as PDFs.

It will be a good few years if they ever decide to release every series as boxed series sets. Besides, apart from first/last adventures, multi-Doctor and a few animated stories, said poster wasn’t exactly scrambling to buy the classics anyway.

Last sentence in this month's DWM article says the next DVD release will be announced in DWM 523.
Web of Fear the most likely, methinks

It would be wonderful if they finally recovered the last lost episode of Web of Fear, but I'd be almost as satisfied with an animated episode three just to have the story 'complete' on the shelf. Either/or would be plenty reason for me to double dip. Here's hoping.

Web of Fear the most likely, methinks The Tom Baker Complete Season 12 Blu-ray is still to be announced, and some use the word 'DVD' as a general term covering both formats so I'm guessing that will be the announcement.

Very interested to see that Phillip Morris special feature. I find the search for the lost episodes really fascinating.

There's something pretty suspicious about Marco Polo not being announced alongside Enemy of the World and Web of Fear when it was always part of the rumour. I think the simple answer to that is that they didn’t find it. Let’s not forget the mirror went from being completely wrong about Kris Marshall being the Doctor to being spot on about Bradley Walsh as the companion. The media just makes this stuff up and hopes for the best. Then they either look stupid when they get it wrong, or great when they manage to get it right.

True, but the rumour wasn't from tabloids but from forum posters who got Enemy of the World and Web of Fear right but also said Marco Polo had been found. I suspect that either it has been but held up by legal issues, or it has but it was badly damaged and irreparable.

If that were case it might hold up a release, but shouldn't stop them announcing that a copy exists. Since there's apparently no evidence of this bar a forum rumour, I suspect that's all this is-a rumour.
