I'll be getting my download at the end of the month, finances permitting. Glad to hear it's a dazzler!

If you've got this Listen now, if you've got spare funds get it now: ATA Girl is stunning! Not just a BF Original but a BF Classic. Charming, Witty, Mature, Topical but not over the top and real tension in the action scenes. Well done to all involved. Regards mark687 Downloaded... and there ^^ goes my plan of making it last for a one-episode-a-week traditional series listen spread through April then... I thought I wouldn't have the patience to wait; after that review I certainly won't!

Listened to all four stories today. Found them enjoyable and yes I would listen to a second series, but it would depend on the price. Happy with £10, but if it is priced as other box sets @ £20 think there are other BF ranges I'd rather spend my money on. Also is my memory failing me, but did Helen Goldwyn sing 'Too close to the sun' in any of the stories as she has a credit at the end of 'Grounded'? - Up in the Air, 56mins 55secs - Dancing with a Spitfire, 54mins 34 secs - Flying Blind, 58mins 53 secs - Grounded, 1hr 2mins 33 secs - Behind the scenes, 53 mins

I’m a little confused by the timing of episode 2. At one point it’s mentioned that Singapore has just fallen to Japan, which happened in mid-February 1942. When the Americans show up, they reference Pearl Harbour (December 1941) as fairly recent, reinforcing the early 1942 date. But then at several other points, they talk about people being stationed in France, and that Mina’s husband is in a hospital in France...but France was occupied from summer 1940 until the liberation began on D-Day in June 1944?

Could've been shot down over France and found by resistance.

I'm only through the first episode, but this is quite lovely so far. If the remaining episodes keep up this strength, the set deserves some accolades

Possible I suppose, but really not the impression I was getting. Oh well, just another reason to re-listen

When I bought the Big Finish Originals bundle, I kind of assumed I would not like at least one of the series but the money I saved buying the bundle gave me a little wiggle room. And besides, everything one buys is kind of a crap shoot.

When I purchased this, I had a feeling it would be good, but good doesn't adequately describe this set. Neither does great. I think this release is exceptional. Just stunning in every way. I'm sitting here trying to think of who in my life I can get to listen to this, because everyone should hear it.
As for the timing of the episodes. I had the feeling that each story was set at a different time, and not in a linear order. We were taken there by one woman's memories, so they tended to jump around a lot. And episodes 1-3 seemed to happen over a long period of time.

It strikes me how it seems only recently through seeing the surviving members that we have been made aware of the role of female spitfire pilots.
All credit to Louise Jameson and Big Finish for creating a strong original drama. Radio drama still seems to provide a wider creative outlet after all this time.
Here's hoping the TV commissioners are on the lookout for something more varied than the current (restricted?) fare which gets the green light time after time.
