First ever post on the forum, just to let you all know. Been listening to the first two episodes today, and Jake Dudman's Tenth Doctor impression is superb! Man, what a lovely treat for David Tennant's birthday! 😁

You know, I love a zesty piece of dialogue or witty banter between characters but you know what? Farts are funny too. It's a comedy truism. I'm sure it is in a book somewhere. People would love the Slitheen a lot more if it'd been light burps instead. Would they? I wouldn't tbh. I'm happier with what we got.

Enjoyed The Taste of Death. Good fun with a dark undertone to it. Great use of the Slitheen. Dudman is good too.

Backtrack was great I thought. A fun romp that’s suitably timey wimey. How brilliant to have a new story with the Doctor and Martha, set during the latter half of their series; I love that duo.

Wasn't this set pre- The Lazarus Experiment? I thought they mentioned taking Martha home after her 'one trip which then became several'? I agree with you on the story points - plenty of fun and great to hear 10 and Martha together

Finished the set on my morning jog. Overall, I thought this was a great set. I'd say my favorites were the last two stories - Wild Pastures does a lot to highlight the similarities and differences between Sylvia and Donna (and also made me wish we had more Bernard Cribbins) and Last Chance was really delightfully written with lots of fun bits of narration and an excellent performance from Michelle Ryan. Sometimes, it can feel like Last Chance's narration is causing the story to veer more on the side of "audiobook" than "half-and-half" - there's a lot of getting inside Lady Christina's head and the heads of a few other characters - but if you're able to look past that, it really is a great story. If I had to point to my least favorite of the set, unfortunately that'd be Backtrack, which I have to preface by saying I didn't dislike it - I just thought it was the least interestingly written.
Overall, while I thought this was a great set and I imagine I'll probably revisit most of these stories several times in the coming months, I don't think there was really a story that I just adored as much as I did Retail Therapy from The Ninth Doctor Chronicles. That's nothing against what's here - again, most of it is great - it's just something I personally found myself thinking at the end of the set.

The last story had an interesting narration. Seemed like a performed novel at points. Was pleasantly surprised to hear Guy Adams was the writer.

Indeed! Just one problem.. I can't stand the slitheen.. Well, if it helps, {Spoiler} there isn't any farting. It's a really great story.

I really liked this set. I agree with relativetime about Backtrack being the least interesting story in it, but not necessarily a bad one. And I was shocked to realize that I think I liked the Lady Christina story the most! What a surprise that was!

I heard the free excerpt and it was insanely good. Also, Even though it has Lady Christina it had more of a 6th or 7th Doctor feel to it which I really liked.
Of course any Doctor would do what the Tenth Doctor is doing if they found out but it's definitely a story that would be perfect with 6 and Frobisher.
Also Monsters Inside is the most brilliant and terrifying use of the Slitheen I have ever seen and if the new story uses them even half as well I am excited to see it.
Dudman does an excellent job of capturing the narration in the spirit of the best and most well done books.
Time to send Big Finsih a briefcase full of money again!

Wild Pastures is brilliant. It’s authentically part of its era but it’s absolutely different to anything that would be done on telly; like the very best of the Chronicles. A fantastic platform for Sylvia and almost a Doctor lite adventure; it showcases Dudman’s narration well, but I was left thinking “what’s the point in him being there?”.

Must say I found Last Chances a real slog to listen to, sorry! It’s almost entirely narration, which I felt was quite hard going, and, as with Wild Pastures, I am left thinking “what’s the point in Dudman?”. Michelle Ryan might as well do it all.
It’s a mixed set for me, I think. Wild Pastures is brilliant and the first two are good fun, but it’s the production that lets the set down. Jake Dudman isn’t necessary in the last two, which I think actually makes the first two stories look worse off by not having Billie or Freema involved. I can’t deny he does a good impression, and he’s a solid narrator, but it just all seems unnecessary to me. He does a better Matt impression, but the Eleventh Doctor Chronicles absolutely doesn’t need him; there’s plenty of characters from that era being used by Big Finish at the moment!

I haven't really gotten to this yet (still thinking of watching Planet of the Dead as a warm-up), but I wanted to hear some of it, so I listened to half of the first story. I didn't think Jake sounded all that much like Ten - which is fine with me since Big Finish has David Tennant, who sounds exactly like Ten :-) - but Jake does evoke the character effectively enough and I really enjoyed his narration, which I think is quite excellent.

Another solid entry in the Doctor Chronicles range. The primarily negative response to the announcement of this range was deeply unearned and I hope more people give it a shot. I enjoyed every story in this set! They were all good fun and mostly fit within their respective chronologies (I only say this as Silvia is aware that the Doctor is taking Donna away to alien worlds etc. even though she's not 'supposed to' know about that until The Stolen Earth). My favourite in this set is a toss up between The Taste of Death and Last Chance. TToD is so typically Series 2 that I can't help but love it to bits, but LC is so Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy-esque that it very much gives it a run for its money

Really enjoyed this release, especially “Wild Pastures”. Who’d have thought that a Doctor Who story featuring Sylvia Noble would be so awesome? One laugh out loud moment for me was when she comments on all those companies that have “Solutions” in their name. I might possibly have had a consulting company whose name included Solutions...
