What if The Doctor had never returned the night on Amy and Rory's wedding? Would Amy and Rory's marriage have lasted? Amy's demons are very dark and I can't see Shannon leaving her life again after the wedding not inflicting any old wounds and Rory is visibly irritated by Amy's preferial treatment of The Doctor. Holding the torch for your life long crush is one thing, but it's not completly practical for a long-term relationship rife with the problems Amy and Rory have. While Rory across his life has always tried to smooth over the edges and make her feel validated, loved and accepted, Amy in canon thrives from the excitment, the colour, the joy and wonder that the life of the TARDIS and puts the pieces in play for her to let go of the trauma of losing her parents and Shannon's neglect for her to enter adult life.
I don't think Amy would have ever let go of The Doctor and Rory, sweet, empathetic Rory would have sensed that and been irriated by her prefeternial treatment of him, along with Amy's capacity to self-sabotage and if Rory was prepared (and rightly so) to end their relationship in Amy's Choice, I can see it happening on a more grounded level a year or two into their marriage.

Sorry, I meant Aunt Shannon Oh, and I love that.
But, I do think Amy would have internalised it in this scenario, though.

I imagine that the marriage would have been fine. If the Doctor hadn't returned at their wedding, then he would never have existed, therefore the cracks in time, etc. had never existed, therefore Amy lost no one and thus suffered no loss or trauma. Additionally, with the Doctor having not existed, her brief relapses of memory would have almost certainly faded and she would have had no torch to bear for him, so she would have been able to focus solely on Rory.
Unless you mean what if he didn't take them with him after their wedding, in which case it could be anyone's guess. There would have been no "I can't have children" problem as that happened later in Amy's life, so their relationship should have been fine. Most people tend to get on with their lives after leaving the Doctor, so Amy should be able to do the same (Rory would certainly manage without any problems). If the marriage did stop working it would be down to Amy being unable to move on from the Doctor but, like I just said, if everyone else can do it then she shouldn't find it impossible either.

Yes it would have lasted. I'd hope they would've moved in with Brian instead of the Aunt, until Amy she got her Modelling break and Rory became a specialist Nurse, the only difference would be the child would happen after both careers were established and they had their own place.

I imagine Aunt Shannon pretty much took off when she did and wasn't involved in Amy's adult life really in any capacity and Amy's parents left her the house in their will. - I don't know if Amy tried modelling in the cracks in time timeline (although I could see Rory akawardly kind of steering her towards it, while she's trying to make sense of things), she just seems stuck in Leadworth, but I do like the more optimistic take.

She wouldn't be steered into modelling, it'd be entirely her choice (with Rory's dutiful support)

Eh, Amy's struck me as being kind of stuck in Leadworth, especially in her role as a stripagram. I could see Rory akwardly steering her towards it.

No Amy wore the trousers (in a positive sense) and in normal relationship situation it would work well,

She was NOT a stripagram. She said "Kiss-a-gram."

Sorry, I forgot. I actually just looked it up - I always thought it was a euphemism for the family audience!

No. No it wasn't. I have to admit that I'm a little bit appalled that you thought it was.

Well, so was I! (I don't think we have them in Australia) I remember thinking how the hell did the BBC let them get away with that? (Not ignoring the validity of sex work, etc, just how I thought it was represented in the narrative, etc as opposed to it's, I guess, more 'innocent' origins? Are there male kissograms?)

Sorry, I just can't get past the idea that a kiss-o-gram can be construed as a euphemism for sex work. She says the word and then clearly defines what it is right in the episode.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

We did have them (my drama teacher in 1986 ran a company as a side job) but I'm not sure if they're all that common anymore.

Removed a post because I thought it could be misconstrued.

And here I thought it was obvious that it was intended to be a silly joke.

Well I had no idea whatsoever what a kissogram was and going to parties with sexy uniforms sounded like something similar to a stripper(I'm not saying having sex or anything like that, just... Well stripping) 😅 Personally I think she was meant to be a stripper but they had to tone it down a fair whack for a family audience. You can sort of tell because of the amount of people on here who didn’t know that a kissogram was a real job.
