The Mary Poppins thing clearly is intentional given the play on "practically perfect in every way.." at the start so I won't judge the accent thing too closely on that. She's certainly speaking in her Scottish accent in other parts of the trailer. In the show Michelle used her accent rather wonderfully - getting more Glaswegian the angrier she gets while when she's calm - say at the tea scenes in S8 - she tones it down into a more Scottish RP (A Kelvinside accent...). Bit odd that we're getting a story in her first audios where Missy is a nanny and just a few months ago we had a story in The Missy Chronicles where she is..... a nanny. I guess that Poppins thing is too attractive for writers not to use.

(Unless it's happened already and I've missed it, which is also possible.)

Missy is definitely English, not Scottish She was English when she was introduced in Deep Breath, and took a fancy to the Doctor's accent. She remained English all throughout Season 8 until she met the Doctor, then started playing with the Scottish When the Doctor vanishes in The Magician's Apprentice, she reverts to being English and stays that when in all the scenes with Clara. Back to Scottish when she's with the Doctor, but then she's English again when she's with Clara in the wastelands on Skaro in The Witch's Familiar That means she's English in all these stories: Deep Breath Into the Dalek The Caretaker Flatline In the Forest of the Night Dark Water The Magician’s Apprentice The Witch’s Familiar My theory is that Moffat and Michelle Gomez's approach is that she's only Scottish in the Doctor's orbit, and I predict (and hope) that's what we'll hear here. Though I'd love to hear a few other playful accents too! I don't hear that by and large. She's clearly Scottish with Clara in Spain (very broad Glaswegian when being disgusted at the notion she's "gone good". And she's Scottish on Skaro with her too in the whole "consider the Doctor" scene, just not as broadly Glaswegian as other parts though she goes full Glasgow on "Get yer own stick" so I don't think that saying she's only Scottish round Capaldi is right at all. She's got a much more English accent in the trailer for the audio than the one she mostly used on screen. She's Scottish with Nardole and The Master in S10 too.

Though I'd love to hear a few other playful accents too! She's Scottish throughout. The line in Deep Breath is a 'I'm Scottish now' line as a gag about the fact she will now have a Scottish accent. Thinking she plays other scenes without the Scottish accent is just wrong, sorry - other than the occasional comic exaggeration for a line it's all in Michelle's *own* - Scottish - accent, that's how Michelle talks. Where are you from yourself?

Well, someone had to say it. It's actually got me thinking... I'd love a story/scene where Missy's attending a multinational conference and we just cycle through every single accent that Michelle Gomez can throw at us from her repertoire. It could be a lot of fun.

It could be a lot of fun. Katy (Manning) and Michelle to a whole story where Jo meets Missy but they play every role

They must have forgotten to put them up originally! All four of them sound great and very suited to Missy!

If I wasn't going to buy it already, I'd buy it just for The Broken Clock.
