Had an interesting week.. The proverbial hit the fan on Tuesday, so emails back and forth between our Executive Manager, my direct Manager, Head of H.R. and me.. Me.. who literally does everything barr authorise his fortnightly time sheets so Accounting can send through my pay.. And 1 other Legal matter that occurs which needs to officially be given a sign-off. Me.. who (and I brought this up in my last email Friday morning) has been honoured with 23 Awards in 6 1/2 year for "Services To The Public and my Peers".. Me.. who has the Department running at such peak efficiency that at the EOFY (end of financial year) audit - My Executive Manager was questioned if the figures were correct/not smoothed out/churched up to look better.. My last epic essay email back had 3 separate attachments of evidence/facts/figures proving that everything I say is the truth and not embellished and why am I being questioned when all the evidence proves otherwise.. Me.. Who had to escalate with thesaurus words/phrases/cliches to get it through his head... It ended up with me receiving 3 frantic calls on my mobile when I was on the bus going home.. I googled the number so couldn't work out who it was.. let all 3 ring out.. After the 3rd I received a 30 sec voice message.. It was the Head of H.R. .... Doing A F*&$^@^$%@#% "Welfare Check" on me because there was a "concern".. I sent her a novel sized SMS back starting with " Maybe I should have started this whole conversation in our first group email with "lets look at removing the cause so the symptom can not be there.. Let's not focus on the latter but the former which is what all these emails have been about". My direct Manager and the Head of H.R. are fully in support of me 100% .. They have been working to stick a boot up the Exec's butt. I have another meeting with her today. I have been in a foul mood from last Tuesday morning when I mentally snapped till now writing this out. Going to be a fun time, I don't back down when I have evidence. I heard just before I left that he (Exec) is relenting and is going to rush "sign off" on what I have been demanding I need. Right now if I suddenly am away sick for 3 consecutive days, there is a certain Legally required action that has to happen. If not then Risk & Compliance need to be advised and have to self report and cop a Huge fine from another Governmental Department. Fun Times. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/ZBDvOFPmQgNwxFXLpuoD.gif) Oh FFS! What a load of BS. I repeat, this is not helping with your health.

It turns out the Eye of Orion actually really is in Wales... ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/IwGTjEvWiMqDCgEk5m52.gif)

So many versions and multiple commentaries, I was working through them one each November ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif) but that good habit got broken. I must recommence my journey above, between, below the various possible routes to watch 'The Five Doctors', with/out commentary/new effects ...
As I've mentioned before, it was the first 'Doctor Who' I had on video (home recorded, first ever video recorder bought specially in November 83!) and I've seen it more times than there are different safe paths across the entrance hall of the Tower Of Rassilon and I never get tired of it. My favourite multi-Doctor story, I just love it!

Twin brother and I have been members of "Twin Research Australia" for easily 30 years now. Literally just completed a study that is being run by about 6 Doctors, Professors, Associate Professors from Australia, UK and Hawaii.. This is a small synopsis : "The project aims to understand whether the ability to accurately recognise emotional expressions is primarily inherited through genes or gained through life experience. In everyday life, there are many circumstances in which we need to correctly identify what other people are thinking or feeling. We often try to understand how others are feeling by looking at the emotional expression on their face, and people vary on how easy or difficult they find this task. This study is the first to examine adult twins to investigate whether emotional expression recognition ability is inherited or learnt through experience, leading to important new insights about a critical social skill. In addition, we aimed to see how emotional expression recognition ability relates to other aspects of face recognition and cognitive ability. " We do various studies/interviews/testing processes anywhere from 1-3 times a year. There is a $mall fee we get to in the form of vouchers.. Anything to help Science For The Win.. They were very interested, back in the very early 90's when we joined, to find out we are mirror identical twins.

Been waffling back and forth a little bit on whether or not I should say anything, but... we'll, here I am.
I'd wanted to resume an old conversation in another thread, but that user account has since been deleted. I have been informed that there was a fair bit of drama here sometime in that 6-months or so when I was absent due to my father's accident (which he is, thankfully, very much on the mend from, finally) -- though I don't know any of the details. From what little I could gather from some of the old comments in this thread, several users either left the forum, deleted their accounts, or had their accounts deleted. This is... unfortunate.
So I'm kinda feelin' a bit bummed out right now.

It's been a rough 16 hours.
So my son finished his 3rd year (Junior Year here in the USA) of a 4 year animation program at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. Yesterday evening we found out that his school is closing permanently. We didn't find out from the administration, and they aren't giving the kids a year to finish their programs or find a new school to transfer to. We found out through social media and a text from my son's manager at the job he works at on campus. And they are closing this Friday! It's a mess, with the students, families and professors reeling from it. My son and his friends just signed a year long lease on an apartment in Philadelphia! Where will he transfer? Will he transfer or take a year off? Will he stay in Philadelphia? What happens with his school loans? Financial aid, grants and scholarships? It's like the rug has been pulled out from under him and all of the plans he was making for graduation and beyond are in tatters.
I've been looking at programs for him, but we just don't know anything.

"mess" seems like one hell of an understatement for what's happening over there. There's gotta be a truly colossal degree of ineptitude or (more likely) mismanagement leading up to this. I'm sure we'll learn more soon enough (in the inevitable legal proceedings if nothing else) but, wow, that statement the university out out was just completely ridiculous. They're really gonna blame this on declining enrollment? JFC.

Many of the other schools in Philly, and some outside of that city, are stepping up and accepting UArts students saying that they will honor and accept all of their credits and coursework. It's been nice to see.

I was at my Chiropractors office waiting.. on the tv they were showing the ice hockey championships live . The Stanley Cup - Edmonton vs Dallas. I immediately messaged an old Primary School mate, I have known her since 1980.. She moved to Canada about 20 years ago and lives in Edmonton.. She immediately responded "we are watching it too now in the lounge room". We had a laugh because of the ESP factor. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/ZBDvOFPmQgNwxFXLpuoD.gif)

Two Great Tits have been busily working through our wildlife garden over the last few weeks and it was obvious they had a hungry nestful to feed somewhere close by. Yesterday they turned up leading in a whole squadron of very young Great Tits out to see the big world for the first time. As have the local blackbirds, starlings, sparrows, hedge sparrows...
Excellent wildlife sightings, and as a bonus, greenfly and similar are somebody else's problem. Round here, 'our' birds scoff the lot. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif)

So those cowards who ran their school into the ground cancelled the "information session/town hall" meeting THEY scheduled and announced 10 minutes before it was scheduled to start. This is complete and terrible mess. And I honestly believe that they are hiding something criminal.
I was so distracted at work today I could barely function.

I've been looking at programs for him, but we just don't know anything. This happened at my old school soon after I graduated. (I'm also an animator) He shouldn't be charged for any loans due to the closure, but whether or not his credits with transfer is up in the air. It kind of depends on where he transfer to and if he sticks to the same program/degree.
I would go ahead and fill out paper work asking for loan forgiveness just to have your bases covered.
If he's still interested in animation however he's going to need to move to either LA, New York, or Atlanta cause that's where the work is and where he's going to make contacts. All of which is more important than a degree.
He also needs to be taking this time to work on his portfolio. He's art work itself will speak far more to employers than whatever school he went with.
Also start networking now, before graduating. Attend animation festivals and cons. Start talking to people already working in the industry online. And get to where the work is.

All the parents need to band together and start a class action law suit really. I would see who else you can get in contact with and start exchanging phone numbers/media site accounts ect.
