Nothing says "bigger faff than it really needs to be -!" than trying to get a boarding pass to print. At your hotel's reception. When you've been locked out of the email it's sent to for a week.
If it weren't for the fact that we're up early tomorrow, I'd ask if 10.30's too late to start drinking...

My coworkers are being blatantly evil pieces of shit again.
God I can't wait for the witch behind me to go on maternity leave next week.

So the timeframe at work for our yearly PDR (Performance Development Review) was C.O.B. yesterday. It was sprung on us about 1 week later then norm. I managed to finish it by 3:30pm.. This year it was 19 pages . A lot of "rate yourself" etc . I have copies of every one the past 6+ years, I pretty much mark myself as "4/5" which is "Very Good/Excellent" and 1 "Outstanding" for "Developing rapport and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders" etc etc.. Luckily have not had my Mangers downgrade anything except for 1 section which was changed to "Competent", because it literally didn't pertain to my area. A lot of people write maybe 1 short sentence in about 7 of the 19 pages where you have to elaborate. I have a spreadsheet on my desktop where I jot down "highs/lows/achievements/things that didnt work/self improvement etc".. I write bloody essays for every question where applicable with past and present indisputable evidence as backup so there can be no "questioning", as I have seen a few too many past work mates get screwed over.. I did sneak 1 BIG dig at my Executive Manager for a tough time he put me through about 4 months ago - not by being a purposeful jerk, he is a bit absent minded and can't "read the room" most times.. Evidence was carefully noted,I actually wrote a rough copy before I committed to it LOLZ. Basically the Managers have until 1st September to go through it and put their comments, we have a meeting- sign a piece of paper confirming everything has all been discussed, future training etc. Then the conversation "Please don't tell anyone what your bonu$ is and what your pay rise amounts to, as there are certain departments that don't get bonuses and we don't want to cause friction". which I would never do anyway. The last 2 weeks have been furiously training my new work assistant, I need him up and running within 3 months so I can take a week off work (I have xmas/new years week off this year finally after 4 years). I still have 12 weeks paid annual leave accrued, in 3 months I get my "pro rata" 7 years which means I have 8 weeks extra paid leave accrued and banked.
I managed to attain 9 "awards" in the last Financial year which in Oz is 1st July to 30th June. My "wall of awesome" has 26 awards all stuck up in OCD sequential date order. It also covers the glass wall we sit behind so we don't look like goldfish!

Seriously, take that leave as soon as possible. You need it. Not worth anything to you when you are dead.
And only one week of leave per year? This is so unhealthy and not good for your quality family time, either.
Really hope things change for you soon.
If you listen to me, take that leave and finally take a drive and show your son that snow.
My 2 cents.

I had 1 week at the beginning of the year and just after Easter I had 2 full weeks. I will squeeze in a week around Sept/Oct and then I have Dec/Jan 1.5 weeks off. I now pretty m uch book school holidays off for Junior so we dont pay for the childcare at the school. I jokingly said to my Manager that if I could authorise my fortnightly timesheets I would be 100% self sufficient, he flat out told me that he knows I do everything/know how to and he doesn't. He fully trusts me. I don't hide anything

The decision has been made. I spoke with my ex last night about Evan and he's on board with the school in LA. So yeah, I'll be taking a trip out to La La Land next month. I'm happy and excited for him.

I finally went and got a haircut.
I been wanting one for months now and either didn't have the money or the time before.
I chopped it all off and got a cute pixie cut because of the heat.

Ok.. This whole topic is a bit (lot) of a hot button topic and understandable so.
May I suggest we adopt a "cooler heads prevail" approach- perhaps leave this discussion for the time being?
Thank you kindly.

I know I've contributed to it, but the political discussion about Biden and Trump is really off topic for this thread. I don't think we should continue this discussion here, as aussiedoctorwhofan requested yesterday. Thanks. Ok.. This whole topic is a bit (lot) of a hot button topic and understandable so. Thanks for your thoughts @peterp. Both aussiedoctorwhofan and I have requested that we step back from this discussion at this time. Thanks.

Spain! BRILLIANT result!!
{Spoiler} And in straight sets too. 6-2 6-2 7-6. RF's record of 8 wins still stands!
(What?? Was there another sporting event on today? Must have missed it...)

Spain! Southgate cost it. Best group of players we've had in decades and he plays it defensive. Scraping past Slovakia, Switzerland and Holland (needing to comeback from being behind in all 3) covered up cracks but it was clear Kane is not at it, and we needed width. But he gives Anthony Gordon ONE MINUTE of the tournament and Cole Palmer doesn't play a second. Just those two playing would have stretched the Spanish defence much more. Hopefully someone better now, not someone who's biggest achievement before the England job was getting Middlesborough relegated.

Keep up the predictions based on variables that are unknown to all of us. A bad debate is not an indication of a bad president, no matter how much the press want to make it seem like it is. Biden's base is still with him and that's more important that what the pundits and pollsters seem to think is happening. New polling has Biden pulling ahead. Public Opinion Strategies, who gave the numbers to NBC for the new polling...now say they got them the wrong way round. Trump was up by 3, not Biden. And that was pre-shooting. x.com/POStrategies/status/1812667048100610240

Another polite and gentle reminder - at least for the time being can we refrain from any discussions or debates on anything political that is current world occurring now. No response is necessary.
Kind Regards,
Thank you.
