So, I wonder what cult franchise he is the bigger fan of: A) MacGyver B) The A Team C) Iron Man I guess his partner is his polar opposite...

Hello again.
Gramps here! Well, things never go smoothly do they? Hope everyone is okay, sorry to hear about your news Whiskeybrewer, hope something works out for you soon. All I can say is thank goodness for the NHS. First, granddaughter had to go into the neonatal unit because she went blue and had problems breathing. Fortunately, all was well, she had caught a chest infection and had to have antibiotics. Then her Mum was ill with preeclampsia. She is on the mend but really stressed out. Then, my wife who did a great job looking after her started exhibiting strange behaviour and walked out of the hosptital late at night and after 15 miles fortunately ended up at home.
Long story short, its a weird thing the brain because we called the doctor and she was perfectly rational and wanting to go and get our daughter as I don't drive and the car was at the hospital! So, that went ok and we got her home and she was chatting to my mum who had watched my other children. We thought she was ok, but soon deterioated again.
The ambulance men who turned up, were really good and formulated a plan. As the most vulnerable, baby and her mum went to stay at Granny's who also doesn't drive. So the ambulance crew took baby, her mum, Granny and all baby's stuff to Granny's house! You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff such a little person needs!
Things have settled down now, no doubt the doctor and social services will be in touch tomorrow, such fun. Hopefully, my wife will feel better soon and little cutie and her mum will come back again. She is quite dinky and her clothes are a bit big on her but she is well. Take care everyone. Best wishes.

I called some hospitals near me to see if anyone is looking for temporary PTs, but nope. We are probably the only health care workers not being sought after right now.

Reconnected with an old friend this afternoon. She used to be a really important part of my life, but for one reason or another we fell out of touch and hadn't spoken in five or six years. She's been on my mind a lot lately, not least because she's a nurse and I was worrying about her, so I fired an email over to an old address I had, not knowing if she even still had access--and this afternoon got a 'holy it is so good to hear from you' email with life updates and everything. Feeling pretty good and pretty grateful right now.
Not to spout platitudes or anything, but reach out to the people you care about, no matter how long it's been. It's worth it.

Got Laid Off Yesterday so have to apply for Universal Credit So sorry to hear this after all your jobseeking efforts. Hopefully when the crisis is eventually over, people will be keen to get socialising again and your sector will pick up fast.

Hello again.
Wishing you all the best Whiskeybrewer. Quick update: Things have calmed down here. New mum is doing well, she has similar mental health problems to me, but the midwife says she's doing really well looking after the cute one.
Mrs Kernow, is resting now and looking better due to a good night's sleep. She doesn't trust me to make her drinks though, at present her brain is telling her I'm a villain and I'm trying to poison her!! the brain is such a clever thing, we take it for granted but when it goes wrong it's like a computer you get all sorts of strange error messages.
I remember mine was telling me that the world was ending and everyone had been replaced by robots! Mmm must write that down for a story idea! Take care everyone, it's such a relief to have a community like this where everyone is so supportive and we can talk about everything under the sun.

Fingers crossed yeah. It'll be slow but it should definitely I can't imagine how crap that feels after you were looking for so long. Is there any work going round your way at all at the moment? I know it's not what you'd want maybe but certainly up here the supermarkets are all choking for staff and it'd be better than the awful Universal Credit even short term. It's about the only sector employing new people right now for obvious reasons. Did your work give you any kind of "when this is all over we'll ring you..." hope?

Yeah, Youtube? If you could stop re-adding videos back to my watch-list, that'll be great... [First world problems]

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I accidentally wrote down the wrong day for a test. I was getting ready for it tomorrow and have learned it was on Tuesday... It's safe to say that definitely hasn't made my day (I've e-mailed the unit co-ordinator but they made a big point of there being no resits since the tests are done online now, so I don't think there's any way for me to make up the lost marks)

There's not that much to look for where i am at the moment as its a small village, with a small town a short bus ride away. Since I'm on lockdown at my Mum's. Im signed up for UC now anyway, just got to wait for my phone appointment Yeah they did. They said i'd be front of the queue to reapply for my job, meaning they'd ring me and ask if i wanted it back lol

Hello again. What's made my day: The National Theatre's streaming on Youtube of One Man, Two Governors. I watched it my teenage daughter who is hoping to study Drama & Theatre studies at A level. It is such a funny farcical story, a modern adaptation of an older play. Set in 1963, with songs and music from a variety of sources played while the scenery is changed. The cast is excellent and their comic timing on the button. There is some strong language. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzqcRwWVv8kEnjoy...
