I rang him up earlier he's in a bad way unfortunately took to getting drunk block it out, told him drink till doomsday won't change outcome, sorry sounds harsh but i struggle with my mental health every day but you have try find something keep you going & not take to the bottle cause if i did I'd be a alcoholic, it's hard & the loss devastating but he left behind a wife & 3 kids who'll need our support we can only help the living. He thinks I'm cold emotionless, i dunno maybe he got a point. Oh, I think you're far from cold and emotionless, Timelord. There is your own grief, his grief, the grief of a wife and the grief of children. All of whom he cared about, all of whom are now hurting. He wouldn't want to see any of you destroy themselves for him. It was good of you to try, I think you said the right thing. I hope your cousin finds a way forward that will lift him up, rather than drag him down. I've distanced myself from my cousin, he has a wife & daughter to support him through his grief, at the minute i just can't take on his emotional baggage as i have think my own mental health wellbeing which is taking a beating at the minute, not like me though usually be first one there supporting him.

Agreed, we have this over here, too.
There will be riots if everything has to shut down again.
Heck, there are riots here already, like in Stuttgart.

It's simple whatever gender, colour, or religious beliefs you break the rules then there are consequences it that simple. Unfortunately the majority follow the rules unfortunately there are always going to be idiot imbeciles who think the rules don't apply to them well if they get sick don't treat them as brought it on themselves. Ok rant over, need lie down inhale some lavender.

Also I think people are quite naïve when they talk about using rubber bullets, which should really be called baton rounds.

However.
My brother's best friend is with the police and they tell stories... and the riots in Stuttgart were a major thing, hundreds of thousands of Euro in damage, injured policemen, demolished police cars... The situation was out of control.
Not that I favour rubber bullets, but a water cannon might not have gone wrong there.

I think Dietrich Wagner, the Stuttgart pensioner who was blinded by a water cannon, would disagree. People assume things like rubber bullets & water cannons are not seriously harmful means of crowd control. Thank god Theresa May did one thing right by not allowing them to be used here in the UK. Even though I think what happened yesterday in some UK pubs was stupid the idea of using them, as mentioned above, on a crowd congregating outside a pub is monstrous! It would set a dangerous precedent.

As part of my job as an Essential worker I spoke to a Nurse who is in the Covid-19 ward in the biggest hospital here in my home town. She told me over 3 months ago as a requirement she had to immediately seek legal counsel to update her Will. She called me today to say she is alive and well. She also said that we (South Australia) haven't even hit the peak of this 1st wave - because all around the world it's still the 1st wave...
Not made my day :-(

It really frustrates me that it has to be like that and then there are too many people not caring about the rules, going wild and spreading the disease, making it even worse for everyone.
I had one of my dear colleagues die right at the beginning of the COVID outbreak and funerals were pretty much banished completely. We were not able to say good bye, it was basically just her parents who were allowed on the cemetery.

Been told can't go cousins funeral next week due to limited numbers, i couldn't visit him in hospital & now i can't say goodbye. I am sorry Simon..as tuigirl said it sucks. I really feel for you. I was witness to a live streamed funeral service during the worst of the outbreak and it was both heartbreaking to see the mourners grieving while socially distanced and unpleasant to know that the normal way of doing things at a funeral just wasn't possible. So I hope for your own peace of mind you can find another way to say goodbye to your cousin, for example lighting a candle, raising a pint to him, doing an activity of some sort in his memory or even making a donation to a charity in his name. Not exactly the same as saying goodbye at a service I know, but something is better than nothing at all.
