That blue console room is a nice change - maybe the TARDIS mirrors the Doctor’s mood.

I mean what Moffat-era monsters would you bring back? Even Big Finish stuck to RTD's era in the CDNM boxsets. In fact I think the Silence might be the only 2010+ Monster to arrive on audio IIRC?? I don’t remember the Silence on audio .... What? What are you on about Sir Wearer? The Silence were on audio a couple of years back in............. ummm......................they appeared in.........................oh, that's odd.................................I'm sorry, what we were talking about? Moffat-era monsters to bring back? Fear from "Listen". Just imagine the mind**** Big Finish could do with a few well chosen audio sounds playing in our ears. And does Walter Simeon / The Great Intelligence count as Moffat era? I could just see Richard E Grant chewing up the audio booth in competition with Tom or Colin. 😊

Is that the latest school of thought? I only frequent this forum nowadays, and its a pleasure not to read such cobblers from, I presume, Those Who Hate Everything. Well it tends to be either: “The Moffat era was a failure and the BBC and Chibnall are course-correcting by following the example of the RTD era” or “Series 11 proves that we didn’t realise how good we had it with Moffat who in hindsight was great whereas Chibnall has killed Doctor Who” I honestly don’t know why it’s always turned into a competition between eras and conspiracies that people are being ousted by the BBC because they make the show rubbish. It’s all a load of horse manure. It's crazy isn't it? I blame Verity Lambert!

Wasn't there talk of a New Years special? That was before Chibnall confirmed that it was actually for the end of 2020. 'The Mirror' claimed the New Year's day start followed by it's regular slot from the 4th. I know people are going to go Tabloid Rag, blah, blah, blah, but they tend to get stuff right more than they get it wrong when it comes to DW news It wouldn't be in the official Christmas schedules if it was past the new year's period anyway.

I'm a big fan of this theory - I can really 'see' something the first weekend in January with or without New Year's Day

I know people seem to be getting hyped for the Racnoss but are we sure it’s definitely the Racnoss and not them just reusing costume as a new alien? From what I'm able to tell, looks like a related species - scorpion instead of spider, but still arachnid. Probably like Nimon-God Complex Minotaur, or Abzorbaloff to the Raxacors.
Also, seems like they're in the same episode as Tesla and, maybe, Edison/Twain (the white haired guy running with Yaz from them).

Judoon, Racnoss, and - OMG - Cybermen. Doesn't it all look ten times more promising than Series 11! Now... let's hope for a story arc and a two-part finale.

Just realised I didn't post my thoughts on the trailer. I think Series 12 is looking fantastic! This trailer had everything I felt the Series 11 lacked - a sense of excitement, some proper action sequences, teasers for a couple of the monsters (both old and new), and just a general feeling of what I've come to know as " Doctor Who". While I do like Series 11, I find it has a tone completely different to any other period of Who history, meaning I'm less likely to return to it than any other period. 12 looks like it's going to be a lot more in line with what I've enjoy the most out of New Who, and I'm seriously looking forward to it. Plus, new Cybermen! I was thinking only this year that they were probably due a new redesign, and they look great from the little bit we've seen. And now we've got the promise of some two-parters as well. This is shaping up to be the best series in years

Blink had the lowest ratings of Series 3 and got a lower audience appreciation score than The Doctor's Daughter did, Talons got lower ratings than Android Invasion, The War Games Ep 8 got the second lowest ratings of any Classic Who ep ever - quality outs eventually!

I know it's pointless to hope but people really should stop paying attention to any ratings other than the 28 days consolidated total. The American networks have the right idea are have stopped reporting their overnight ratings completely.

youtu.be/3aPfN_0WvK4New trailer (rather like buses, you wait ages for a Series 12 trailer and then two come along) which confirms New Year’s Day start.

They really are going full-on Bond with this one... And it looks like it#s sticking to Sunday for it's regular slot, unless BBC America are going to be showing it a day later.
