www.bigfinish.com/news/v/main-range-special-offersUntil midnight UK time on February the 20th you can get the Main Range releases from 101 Absolution to 150 Recorded Time and Other stories for £6 on CD and £5 each on download. It doesn’t look like these deals apply to subscriptions. www.bigfinish.com/offers/v/dwmr101150(Access code is ABSOLUTION) if you’re looking for recommendations, it’s a good time to pick up the Hex stories, as they have an overall arc that concludes with the phenomenal A Death in the Family. I can also strongly recommend the 2010 Seventh Doctor and Klein trilogy of A Thousand Tiny Wings, Suvival of the Fittest and The Architects of History. At these bargain prices it’s a good time to pick up the Sixth Doctor and Jamie trilogy of City of Spires, The Wreck of the Titan and Legend of the Cybermen, as it listens so much better as a twelve episode arc (The Companion Chronicle Night’s Black Agents slots in between Spires and Wreck, but while it does get called back on it’s not essential listening for the trilogy).

I'm having trouble deciding between the 7/Hex arc and the Six/Charley arc. Any thoughts?

Hard to say, both were good. Nice price though, if I didn't already own them I'd get them all.

The Charley Arc would be more complete but the Hex stories include some of BFs best stuff ever.
So for a good solid Arc Charley but if you want some excellent stuff adding to an ongoing Arc that still wouldn't be complete with these releases Hex

Ah the annual main range incursion into my wallet.
Got some gaps to fill in Charley and Hex Stories, but also tempted by Sixie and Jamie.

I swear, every time BF has a sale, it's when I don't have any money. It's almost as if they're spying on me or something.

Hmm - seven releases here that I do not have. Buying the lot will entitle me to the £50 10% discount.
Trouble is, one of those releases is called 'The Dark Husband'. Can anyone say anything good about it by way of persuasion?

Wow, awesome! Now I am finally able to finish the Hex and Charley arcs. Thank you Big Finish!
Not really interested in anything else, though. Oh well, money saved.

This poor joke aside, I currently have 24 out of the 50 releases from this part of the main range, will probably buy The Haunting of Thomas Brewster and Reef Time next week, not entirely sure yet. If anyone on this topic wants recommandations and thoughts on some releases, I would very strongly recommend the Charley arc with Sixie, both trilogies with Hex leading to the extremely, really bloody good "A Death in the Family" and the Klein trilogy, which is still my favorite from this range along with the 2016 "Two Masters" trilogy.

Ive got loads of gaps in this part of the MR, so with limited funds will probably go for...
The Eternal Summer (out of sync because i dont have the others in the trilogy, but i do like a village with strange goings on)
The Raincloud Man
And maybe Project Destiny and A Death in the Family (if the first gives me enough to understand the latter)...
And maybe Cobwebs.
The Crimes of Thomas Brewster and Industrial Evolution are both available on R4extra at the mo so I'll listen to them there for now.

It always pays to check. I thought I had a complete run of the Main Range on both CD & digital download. Turns out there was a gap. A 6th Doctor sized gap. 143 through 145. Gap filled in. I have spent a lot more money on Big Finish this month that I would have thought.

Can anyone say anything good about it by way of persuasion? Don't go by what you've heard about it, try it for yourself and see. Honestly, I don't remember it being as terrible as you would think, judging by what people have said, but I tend to be more forgiving, in most cases, about what I think about these stories. (There are several notable exceptions, but this isn't one of them. )

Can anyone say anything good about it by way of persuasion? Personally, I think people make a huge deal about nothing with The Dark Husband. I actually quite enjoyed it for the most part, though I seem to recall it did start to become a bit confusing in the final episode (though it's been ages since I listened to it, so maybe that's just dodgy memory). My brother listened to it quite recently though and he enjoyed it as well, so it's a "Recommended" from the Whovitt family
