One other thing, the idea that 13 & Yaz have been traveling together for a while leaves room for more of their adventures when they inevitably work for BF. Although a shame we aren't seeing it on screen. I know some people didn't like the panel but all panels I have seen have been basically the same, everyone saying how great things are without actually giving away anything.

I think it's such a missed opportunity to not give them a few episodes on their own.
I would love to see (hear) BF give the Doctor and Yaz some interesting self-contained stories on their own and perhaps even try to explore their dynamic and the strong on-screen inference that Yaz has feelings for the Doctor. But perhaps we're more likely to get a UNIT reunion with the sorta-close-but-not-quite versions of the Brigadier, Sarah Jane, and Liz, plus a time-displaced Dodo vs. The Eleven and Missy in an epic 3CD box set sequel to Ravagers with cameos by Tom Baker as the Curator and Alex Kingston as River Song.

To be fair, it seems that BF do try to focus on what they've got when they get a new Doctor in (Hurt, Tennant, Eccleston). They eventually get round to doing fan-servicy stuff (see Dalek Universe, Classic Companions) but they do seem to hold back initially.

Not a writer so I don't know if this is positive or negative from that standpiont, but so far they're still very loose characterizations (as in they seem ignore any impact on them caused by story situation for development and revert back to Start as it were) that you could take the early MRs or 10DAs approach to story no problem. Found teaser disappointing, I don't want everything spoiled but surely they could have had something for me to get excited about.

If the teaser had been epic some would complain why is this at a con not premiering on BBC. Maybe they should have showed the trailer prior to Vinder beng revealed on the panel.

I honestly don’t mind the trailer. I rather have things not spoiled for me and be surprised than have everything given away before series 13 even airs. I like the sound of the new characters and I like the change in storytelling format.

Hello again
I'm in the "no alarms and no surprises" camp when it comes to Doctor Who trailers. I am intrigued and a little concerned by the news this series will be an eight part single story. This a brave move from Mr Chibnall, argubly the only successful series length story is the original. The Daleks' Masterplan, which has it's faults, mainly due to budget and the silly panto episode. The Trial of a Timelord, for me at the time, was just interminable. Eight parts is probably about the right length and of course brings back that old Classic Who stalwart the cliffhanger. I really hope he lands this. Time will tell...

Guys, guys, guys, you don't understand, you missed the biggest news - Dan's last name is Lewis!
I kid, but I always thought it was kinda weird they initially just announced it as "Dan".

Who's the old grey haired geezer with the accent? Oh yeah, that's Peter Capaldi. That would liven things up a bit.
