<SIGH> ...... Everywhere you turn in my workplace are signs saying literally "if you have any cold/flu like symptoms don't come into work".. My Manager is in charge of 2 departments. Someone in the other department sat with her for over 1/2 a day yesterday for training.. She neglected to tell anyone she has had cold/flu like symptoms with very achy limbs all over.. Queue the panic phone call she received at 7:30am... So the whole other team had to have urgent RAT tests -so far they are all negative..
Waiting on her phone call to my Manager tomorrow morning to say "yes/no".. If she is.. there will he h@ll to pay.. they ALL have to go in quarantine.

Been there, have done this in the past 2 years.... 5 times by now? By now, I do not even get a panic attack anymore. I am just like "Sigh, here we go again." You would assume that after 2 years of this crap people would have wised up, but sadly, people are still the same old idiots.
Hope you also confirm any diagnosis with PCR tests at least on the people with symptoms... because those rapid tests are pretty useless since they have problems detecting Omikron. Tests at our own lab show an accuracy of 50% with the Omikron variant.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

In a not so funny plot twist, I had the same thing happen to me again today at work.
Yay. We will know in a few days if it is our turn with COVID or not. Sigh.
So yeah, joining your club. And will be working overtime next week for the people in quarantine. Fun times. Especially since I also have to babysit our visiting colleague from the UK.

All good.. the prognosis for the woman in question was negative- she just has a stock standard run of the mill everyday cold. :-)

And Round 2...
My direct Manager is in charge of 2 teams.. Basically, the Team Leader in the other team went interstate with her husband who is a higher-up Manager. I saw him on Monday.. He felt "funny" yesterday so went home and got tested, only after he had pretty much done the rounds of every office (not my area thankfully).. He tested positive.. So the 2nd team today all immediately went home with there pc's etc.. That's the whole team minus 1 who doesn't work Mondays and Tuesdays..
My Manager who is on 1 weeks annual leave has been dealing with this all day when she should be with her family who she hasn't seen in 2 years. 2 in the team from last Friday 100% have Covid- the other 6 are "close contacts" so home they go for 6-7(?) days..
ARGH!.

Update: New team mate is off today 2nd day in a row she has to get tested. Manager is on annual leave, dealing with the other team who have 2 active cases and 7 exposed stafff on her annual leave as they are all-but 1- now working from home taking tests as they are deemed to be close contacts. The Team Leader in that area tested positive along with her husband who also works here in a higher up position. My Exec Manager I literally just found out by accident he won't be back till Monday 28th, I last saw him 2 days ago. His Assistant is on annual leave too I just found out as I was leaving yesterday. Fun times. HHMM!
