Is this a joke? That looks pathetic.

I like the design. It’s quirky and reminds me of the aesthetic 60s Dalek comics and the now sadly forgotten Buzz Lightyear of Star Command show from the early noughties!

Uhm... not sure about this. Not the biggest fan of the Daleks to begin with and this just looks too cheesy. Might not be my cup of tea.

I'm very surprised that they are going with a realistic direction instead of adding some cell shading to it.

I'm very surprised that they are going with a realistic direction instead of adding some cell shading to it. At a guess the animation might have been a little more viable by spreading the Dalek assets out across the different mediums, such as Daleks!, the Big Finish covers, the Eaglemoss magazines, etc. so they've maintained a rendered style that's clearly CGI but also wouldn't look too out of place against photos of McGann, Tennant et al.

Email newsletter came today with this intriguing section-
‘#1 Secrets of Time Lord Victorious Hi, your Data Worm here.
Just back from another mission into the Archive of Islos, digging up some secrets of the Dark Times. I really work so vrrr vrrrrr hard for you.
Here’s a weird fact – Time Travel back to the Dark Times is impossible. There’s a block around them. Many believe that Rassilon (founder of the Time Lords) put up an impenetrable barrier around them. But why? Was it to stop the time-capable races from travelling back and altering the origins of the universe we now have? Whatever, not even during the Darkest Days of the Time War could anyone manage to go back there.
What would happen – just take a moment and think about this – what would happen if the Time Lords and their Laws Of Time weren’t around anymore? Is there anything to stop you from going back to the Dark Times? And if not, then what would you do there? If you put a stop to one of the harmful species lurking back there, what would the consequences be to our universe? Just a bit of food for thought.
I’ll tell you this, though, we should have a chat about the Kotturuh – the Bringers of Death. Did you know they’re so scary that the Eternals ran away from them? And have been running ever since?’

The Archive of Islos is intriguing as we’ve only started to hear about it very recently. James Goss mentioned it in passing in his recent interview and it’s been mentioned in the Daleks! announcement yesterday.
It’s all ramping up now!

Well my subscriber issue of DWM arrived with a monstrous thump on the doormat. It’s a hefty one.
Monstrous Beauty is off to an interesting start. The art is quite bold and vivid. It’s heavy on spectacle rather than exposition.
There’s some intriguing hints about Time Lord history here, some of which may be a bit controversial I suspect.

I thought the DWM coverage of Time Lord Victorious was a bit lacking. I think it's a mixture of the team not being able to say a lot and the stories all being standalone in their own right, which makes the comments from each licencee feel quite isolated. I think the TLV site announcing the timelines before DWM knocked the wind out of it a bit. Still, it's nicely presented in the magazine! One interesting thing that caught my eye is one of the contributions to TLV is... a t-shirt! It's probably the most limited item too, with only 500 being made. It features Brian the Ood and glows in the dark, which reveals a few lines of text. You can see the image on the Forbidden Planet site, but I can't read what it says! “Can I help you…?”
The first of its kind, a t-shirt written by acclaimed Doctor Who writer James Goss!
Yes, you read that right. A t-shirt so unique that it tells one very important piece of the Time Lord Victorious narrative.
Who is Brian the Ood really? And how does one go about recruiting his special skills…? Turn off the lights and find out…
Produced on a 100% cotton Gildan softspun t-shirt. Limited to just 500.

The lesser Order of Oburm(?)...and quickly (slowly costs extra)...Knight Assassins we kill efficiently. Death comes at a price but for the right...Where there's a kill there's a way...all await your call...Unless a bonus(?)...undertake(?) facts(?)

The first issue of the DWM 9th doc strip is certainly interesting. I'd not been following what was announced in terms of content so I could get some surprises and straight away it's got some stuff that certainly feels event-worthy {Spoiler} Rose and The Doctor impossibly landing in Gallifrey's Dark Times, right in the middle of the famed Vampire War and with a hardass military lady named....Commander Rassilon.

Just read the first part of Monstrous Beauty. Some really nice art and striking colours throughout. The setup of the story is intriguing, though it does seem a little odd that the Ninth Doctor is involved in these events, given how self contained his era is. I sort of feel this would’ve been perfect for Jodie’s Doctor.
Now we’ve had a couple of different instalments from the overall project, I’m quite liking how they’re handled; we’ve got a bit of insight into the Daleks in TLV and now the setting. Can’t wait to get some more on the Tenth Doctor & Brian in the book.
