I just realised I don't even have my "dispatched" email regarding "Echoes of Extinction" on vinyl. So it's just Amazon that have mailed out, no one has their copy from BF direct yet? Nobody’s copy from Big Finish has been dispatched yet. Here’s what they added to their weekly news page on 4th May: SHIPPING UPDATE | Due to factors beyond our control, we are currently experiencing supply issues from the EU. As a consequence, certain collector's editions are delayed as detailed below. We are sorry for any disappointment.
Doctor Who: Dalek Universe 1 (Limited Vinyl Edition) Doctor Who - Time Lord Victorious: Echoes of Extinction (Vinyl Edition)
In addition, the following releases were slightly delayed but are now being dispatched as an urgent priority.
Torchwood: Lease of Life collector's edition CD Doctor Who: Dalek Universe - The Dalek Protocol collector's edition CD Doctor Who: The First Doctor Adventures Volume 05 collector's edition CD
We apologise for the delays. Please note: if you have purchased any collector's or limited editions from this website, the digital download edition will be available in your account.

No mention of Eight, but presumably being voiced by Paul and they've just mistakenly omitted him. I'm surprised they couldn't get Chris & David off the back of a Big Finish recording, but it could be that the timing at the time wasn't right. Mind you, the more original actors they get, the more odd using impersonators seems! Great that they've got Jo & Jodie on board; the latter has done a fair amount of voice work as the Doctor, which bodes well for Big Finish one day!
Hopefully this can be recorded in some way and make its way onto the Doctor Who YouTube channel. I thought it was a shame Doctor Who Live never ended up on the Series 6 DVD/Blu-ray, despite being recorded.

Its kinda sad that if McGann is involved that he is only a voice over instead of another live action appearance especially since David Bradley is in live action form still its not like this might get a dvd or video on demand release

I wish it was Peter voicing 12😔 If his objection to doing BF is indeed due to his dislike of monetising his Doctor as he's said at conventions over the years, I think this would be an even more remote possibility. 55 quid a ticket and only available to those who can get there easily, in a pandemic. Seems an even more elitist, niche "product" for him to put his name to. If he won't do BF, I wouldn't think for a second he'd do this. I'm more tickled to see Michael Troughton filling in for his dad, given it's David who's done that gig over the years.

I thought it was a shame Doctor Who Live never ended up on the Series 6 DVD/Blu-ray, despite being recorded. Yes, hopefully just an editorial snafu and McGann is involved. No real reason he wouldn't be. Matt Smith did quite a bit of audio when he was The Doctor - from novel readings to the original audiobooks. He'd also of course pop up in the Proms and the like when we used to get them. Makes me think he's much more likely at somepoint to say yes to BF but that he wants to have some clear room from the part for his career first. It's very hard to believe it's coming up on 8 years since he was The Doctor and we're getting close to the 60th when the 50th Celebrations still seem to be so very recent. Matt's been away from the part nearly as long as Sylv's gap between Survival and Sirens Of Time, remarkably. Certainly doesn't feel that way. I guess we just live in a pop culture heavy world now where there's so much to keep getting on with, by the time you catch up..it's been years!

I'm not sure it's entirely as simple as that oft-repeated reason as he does conventions and charges, and it varies, roughly £75 for an autograph and more than double that for a photo and autograph combo. So he's not adverse to gaining from the fame of the role but not sell the role out itself. I think he's happy to monetise "Peter Capaldi" but not "The Twelfth Doctor" as a character. He made his discomfort known with being turned into an action figure as some kids can't afford them, scaled down his costume in S9 because he heard how much cosplayers were paying to dress like him and famously advocated the sonic shades and that they look cheap as any 99p sunglasses would be good enough for kids to make their own sonic, rather than have to pay £15. All pretty cool stuff. Maybe he'd do it if there was a BBC Radio free transmission, like the 8DAs started with. Then anyone with a radio can hear them. Or maybe he thinks he said what he wanted to in the part. Or maybe he wants to keep the role special so it's more impactful should he come in for, say, the 60th on TV. Only he, and maybe his agent, know. And we've seen that a no now isn't a no forever, yet it would certainly be trickier should it he be saying no for ethical reasons rather than just for a break from the part.

When he's seeing things, apparently, from a deep-rooted ethical side...he's probably quite entrenched in that. Who knows though? BF have been on the radio plenty over the years. The first series of McGann/Lucie stories were commissioned by BBC Radio 7 and aired before the CDs were on sale. There have been a few times where BBC Radio 4 Extra took a BF trilogy and turned it into a kinda mini-series. They broadcast Tom's first BF season in 2015, then seemingly random things like McCoy's first Klein trilogy in 2012 or Flip's first trilogy with Colin in 2016. And a REALLY weird 50th Anniversary run where they played things from BBC Audio, BF and AudioGo over a week for the anniversary. Hearing Protect And Survive follow the audiobook reading of Doctor Who And The Daleks? Or Farewell Great Macedon be followed by Human Resources? Whoever programmed that stuff clearly was not a fan, as they couldn't be more random or fail to create something an audience could grab onto if they tried. So, yeah, I don't see why there couldn't in theory be a linkup with the BBC Radio team again. It'd need approval from Wales and Salford, I guess. Still think it's a long shot if it's just to get Capaldi in but as a way to present BF and get them some revenue, I'd love them to get on the radio again.
