And assuming that they keep to a four-weekly round, the TLV issue of DWM will be 17th Sept. It's ambiguous as to whether the TLV comic strip will be in done in one issue or not, but it seems to be a stronger likelihood now of it featuring the 9th Doctor.

I’d be surprised if the DWM contribution was just a one-off. I’d imagine it will be one of, if not the, best selling contribution to Time Lord Victorious. It sells more units than Titan, Big Finish and presumably BBC Books. As a result, I think it’ll end up spanning a few issues.

The magazine that isn’t getting stocked in as many shops due to the current pandemic, so they’re asking people to subscribe instead. I don’t think that’s anything different to any other Panini publication or the many other magazine publishers out there. DWM isn’t going to disappear overnight; they’re getting issues out every month and subscriber numbers have shot up. Not many can say the same. I don’t think it’ll have any impact on their contribution to Time Lord Victorious. They’ve already said the comic will be back to coincide with its launch and there’s presumably funding from BBC Studios to get it created in a way there wouldn’t be for the usual strip.

‘Jake Devine, Editor, Titan’s Doctor Who Comics, said: “Titan’s comic story is quite unique, as it features the Tenth Doctor as seen in the recent Thirteenth Doctor comic series, so he's not reached his so-called victory over time yet. But what has been fun to explore is the Doctor getting a glimpse of what's to come and foreshadowing his own dark turn.”’ So from the sounds of it, Titan’s story is a effectively a prequel where a young Tenth Doctor encounters effects of what he’ll later do in his ‘Time Lord Victorious’ phase. So far it seems the two novels are the core event, Big Finish’s Eighth Doctor trilogy and Master duology are tie-ins to that event and Titan’s comics are a prequel. Logically the only element that seems to be missing is the Ninth Doctor’s tie-in, which could be DWM.

Isn't there still one 'very special' Big Finish release that BF 'can't talk about just yet' to come? Given the paucity of 9th Doctor stories announces so far, maybe the 9th Doctor is front and centre in that story? maybe a audiobook narrated by Briggs or Dudman? (or perhaps that odd Eccleston 'leak' from the other week is accurate...)

1st announcement that wasn't perfectly synchronised Titan publishing was Midnight Tuesday some blogs were Tuesday in the daytime BF put their piece up late Wednesday night. Also still no official Timeline for releases (Cheers to Shallactop for doing theirs) nor any indication yet if there are "Essential" parts in the narrative.

The Titan effectively being a prequel is interesting, given the main Tenth Doctor run was set during the Specials, so closer to Time Lord Victorious. I don’t think it was ever explicit when it was set until the last story, where apparently it edged towards The Day of the Doctor & The End of Time.
I’ve never finished the run, despite really enjoying it, as the final graphic novel was never released as a paperback! It’s just reminded me; I’ll bite the bullet and get the hardback.

Plus Rose is supposed to appear at some point as well. (And there's also a BBC Audio release to be revealed as well which could always be Billie reading a Ninth Doc story...)

So big news for Titan, having the Daleks at last! Not so big news for me as I was hoping for more of a Dark Times set story.
And isn’t the Eighth Doctor in league with the Daleks as well!? Both the second novel and the end of the Big Finish trilogy seem to indicate that.
Also from what I have read these comics do seem a bit tied up in Titan’s own Doctor Who chronology, which is a bit off putting as I haven’t read any of those comics. However I am sure they are designed for both new comers (like me) and their own fans.
Perhaps when they announce details of the second comic book it will entice me more.

The only comic they mention is the Thirteenth Doctor crossover - which is set during Blink for the Tenth Doctor. So I think that's just them saying that this Series 3 Tennant rather than Specials Tennant.

Yeah, with each announcement, this is seemingly less the interlinked epic and more a new era being crafted and difference licencees participating.
It's rather like looking at all the many Time War stories and putting them together for a watch/listen/read. Or when we thought that we'd potentially get an Ace trilogy at the beginning of this year, with the Season 26 trailer, At Childhood's End and Dark Universe.
I don't think it's a bad thing and I think it's safer for a first time attempt. They could very well look at the sales and realise they're all very similar and go for something more interlinked in the future.

Big update in DWM-
So DWM 556 (September) will see the beginning of a three-part comic strip starring the Ninth Doctor and Rose entitled Monstrous Beauty. The story will see the Doctor and Rose arrive in the Dark Times, where they’re caught up in the war against the Great Vampires.
A special supplement magazine will be supplied with DWM 556 featuring a double-length chapter kicking off Monstrous Beauty and articles about TLV adventures in other media. This will apparently serve as a roadmap for the entire storyline.
So, that’s the Ninth Doctor and Rose’s involvement clarified.

Sounds good and really like the supplement idea. Seems strange that the comic will be in the supplement, rather than the magazine? As the following two issues will presumably be back to the magazine.
I’ll update the schedule once I’ve received my copy of DWM and have read the article.
