With so many Master box sets at the moment I wondered who will be next to get their own series.
When the Eric Roberts Master set was announced I commented that he would be low on my own personal want list, but I had to go away and make a list to work out who would be top.
So this is a want poll, not who you think Big Finish will do next poll. But by all means say if it is different.
And in case you were wondering Thomas Terrane is an anagram of “Another Master” and is basically for a new incarnation or an existing (perhaps in another medium) incarnation that I haven’t included on the list. I liked the synonym as it has the name Master in the middle of it! It probably isn’t original, but I had fun creating it.

A tie between Simm and Beevers, with Gatiis and McQueen also tied with them... basically don’t make me choose!

I think a John Simm set is inevitable. He’s a coup for Big Finish and the big selling point of Masterful. He has a couple of obvious gaps to explore that would tie them in to existing stories and allow them to be one-offs; much like Only the Good originally was for The War Master.
I’d love a Geoffrey Beevers set and I’m disappointed that we haven’t had one yet. He’s a brilliant incarnation and I know there was the intention to do one, which ultimately became Only the Good, so it’d be nice to see Big Finish resume that. Beevers could pen a story too; he absolutely gets the character based on I Am The Master. My other two favourite incarnations are Jacobi & Gomez, so a Beevers set would round that off nicely.
I can’t say I’m too fussed over any of the other incarnations getting their own set. I’m not keen on the Dreyfus & Macqueen incarnations and I feel Gatiss has enough content to scratch that itch for me. Maybe a Dhawan set when the time comes.

Beevers, in a photo-finish against Macqueen - although I'd rather have more Doctor vs. Master stories than anything!*
*Can Missy read a Twelfth Doctor Short Trip maybe??

I was really fascinated by Beevers’ take on the character in I Am The Master so I’d love to see a full set dedicated to exploring his incarnation.
I think a Simm set is somewhat inevitable (I’d be surprised if Big Finish only get him back for Masterful). I’d quite like a set depicting his rise to power as Harold Saxon. Think House of Cards, but with the Master.

I voted Simm not realizing I could only cast one vote....I figure he's a lock to get one sooner or later anyway, so my alternate votes would have been Geoffrey Beevers and Alex Macqueen.

I think her trying to provide she’s good to the Doctor isn’t something that should be exploited with too many adventures, but a Short Trip seems the perfect place for such a story. I don’t think the Missy sets will touch upon the era too much unless they do a set post-Witch’s Familiar or pre-Extremis.

I think a Simm set would be most justifiable - it's pretty much impossible to have him meet the Doctor and if it was set at some point during Drums/Last of the Time Lords it would have its own distinct identity.

im sorry and I know there has been a trial by twitter on james dreyfus but his take on the master is by far my favourite. Beevers would get my thumbs up to...….
certainly not really interested in Alex McQueen or john simm my least favourite incarnations well after the current TV travesty incarnation who ever he is.

I chose Geoffrey Beevers on the poll because of his seductively evil voice. However I wouldn’t mind hearing more from the majority of the other Masters. I am especially looking forward to hearing more from Mark Gatiss as his portrayal in the fourth War Master set really meshed with me. The Eleventh Doctor should have his own incarnation of the Master to spar with. That Master being portrayed by Mark Gatiss would seem so fitting for the Steven Moffat era of the show.
I am sure Big Finish would make any box set with any Master shine. It is just finding the right concept or hook for the series.

Alex McQueen. I love his take on the character and he needs more audio time to make up for not being in the any of the Master releases so far.

For my concept for the next Master set, I am going to do “a Master” and cheat by suggesting two Masters together...
Becoming Evil The Moulding of The Master
Some would like to go back in time to give their younger self some advice. For most that can never happen. For a Time Lord it must never happen. For the Master it has and always will happen.
The Decaying Time Lord takes himself on as his own apprentice. The Master becomes both the wise teacher and his own unsuspecting student.
It seems just like the crazy, paradoxical thing that the Master would do.
And I can already hear the Decaying Master teaching his young arrogant self, narrating past events as instructive life lessons and showing his charge the true enchantment of evil.

Not sure if this could be considered an inevitability or not, but considering John Simms seem to speak very well of his Big Finish experience I wouldn’t mind seeing him get a boxset or two.
I’d also like to see the Master have some form of companion for his excursions across time and space. It was only for a brief moment but I like the dynamic he had in the first War Master boxset with Cole.
Makes for an interesting change of pace as well. What sort of person would they have to be or become by travelling with such a monster?
Now I’m just rambling.

I think I would have to go with MacQueen I am afraid... Simm is my least favorite of them all and Beevers already had quite a lot of material in different ranges... and let's face it, the Beevers Master is just not very "fun". He is a very no- nonsense baddie. But I think there might be some fun to be had with MacQueen.
I am also not really onboard with Dreyfus Master (I also find him very cardboard cut out) and I would have to listen to a re-cast first before I make up my mind.

John Simm is a likely candidate to get one, but I'd also put some money on a box set or series devoted to both a recast Delgado and a recast Ainley should they being planning both for the Master teamup.
Leaving aside the reasons why he won't be reprising his role, I found Dreyfus a deep disappointment.

Another vote for MacQueen. I love Beevers but we have a ton of releases with him already. I think Alex's Master could offer something new since he's not constrained by a lot of continuity.
Simm and Gomez are probably shoe-ins if they have the time based on star power alone, but frankly neither Simm's Joker-Vegeta or Gomez's Evil Mary Poppins takes on the character appeal to me and I didn't enjoy them much on TV. So BF would have to work their magic to convince me. Hopefully any possible Simm stories would use the The Doctor Falls version and not Last of the Time Lords.

I hated the Simm Master in the RTD era. What an annoying character and I totally missed the joke.
And I was surprised how much I liked him in the Doctor Falls. He actually worked for me in The Doctor Falls.

Probably because he was acting like the Master and not an outlandish cartoon.
