This month's Vortex "confirms" more Benny, so hopefully the wait for NABS 7 won't be too much longer....

This month's Vortex "confirms" more Benny, so hopefully the wait for NABS 7 won't be too much longer.... It is good to hear the announcement this entire set is a great set of stories that flow making you eager to hear the next one and it will be interesting to see where it goes next.I for one think David was an absolutely inspired choice that TV failed to capitalise on after his appearance in Cold War.I cannot help imagining him following on from Capaldi.he is so well written a character in these sets Asking For a friend and Inertia being my absolute favourite stories of his and among my top stories in the BF world. More?Absolutely

I would love to see The Warner Doctor meeting The Third Doctor and UNIT i prefer him stamping his own mark on our universe i mean now they not only have Our Doctor we have His Doctor with his own particular way of doing things I think he works so well because he is NOt entangled in Our particular Doctors way of doing things...TIMELESS CHILDREN...WHAT BOLLOCKS 😂 I could even see him In The Time War (not that i want another set) actually wiping out both races because he was bored of them both and what of his recent brush with the Timelords what will they do next? Its his unique chemistry with Bennie that keeps it fresh dont need to dilute it down with others

TBH I'm not sure how I see Warner's Doctor functioning w/r/t to the Time War, given the Unbound Arc can most easily be read as the aftermath of an even more devastating Time War (Gallifrey is conspicuously absent). Or maybe NABS 6 provides more details? Still haven't listened to it yet -- like Dalek Universe 2/3, I'm saving it for an (exceptionally) special occasion.
Like... would he best fit prior to the war, because he knows how devastating it can be? Or during the war, because it would be an opportunity for him to prevent the same thing from happening to a second universe? Or after the war, so he could be totally unencumbered?
ATM I'm leaning towards the latter, if only because this Doctor has *already* experienced a "the Time War" -- but I waffle a lot on this.

I Wonder if we will get any information on Vol 7 soon?
Will they continue on with The Bernie and Warner Doctor or would they simply have her solo?

I can't imagine them dropping David Warner. His Doctor is a fantastic character who fits with Benny very well, and--perhaps more importantly--Warner has really fantastic chemistry with Lisa Bowerman. Putting the pair of them together really does produce a performance greater than the sum of its parts, even when those parts are played by unparalleled masters of the craft.

I do hope we get a volume 7, even if it’s just to wrap the storyline up. Or at least have the Warner Doctor and Benny turn up in another range as like a crossover event. I just feel like I need some closure. I know these probably haven’t been the most popular sets or the easiest to sell and I get it… but they’ve been some of my favorite box sets Big Finish has done and I’d hate to just see the storyline left hanging like it is.

Big Finish just announced 4 new Gallifrey sets, so now it's just a matter of time before they announce 4 new NABS sets.

I Wonder if we will get any information on Vol 7 soon? Will they continue on with The Bernie and Warner Doctor or would they simply have her solo? Sales of Benny solo were in decline, hence the many reboots/revamps - the Epoch era, the New Adventures with first Sylv and now Warner. Much as it pains me to say it about the first lady of BF, I don't think standalone Benny sells in enough numbers to make it viable any more. She needs a doctor

I mean, I enjoy the solo Benny stories a fair bit, but I really think Lisa Bowerman is at her best opposite David Warner. They're both phenomenally skilled actors, and they have amazing chemistry with one another.
That said, while I wouldn't be as excited with the premise, I could see the, doing something more Benny-centric for the anniversary, kind of like how the Forty sets in the 5DAs try to represent different points in the 5th Doctor's life to celebrate the anniversary.
But, yeah, personally what I'm itching for is more Benny and Doctor NABS sets. The audiobooks they've been putting out so frequently are more than enough to satisfy my needs for Benny alone.

Re-listened to this set (along with all the other Warner-Doctor stories) in anticipation of finally going on to Blood and Steel. A really lovely set. The language theme stays interesting throughout, Warner does some of his most fun and moving work as the Doctor, and Bowerman is on as fine form as ever as Benny. The two obviously were so close and worked so well together (and were written so well!) that it's like a dance at this point. Really wonderful.
