For what it's worth, Big Finish specifically stated in the Susan War boxset extras that they checked with David Bradley's agent before putting in repurposing some of his lines previously recorded for and used in the River Song series. I don't think they would pull that on Chris without telling him, or his agent, either. That’s interesting and good to know, thanks for sharing. To be clear, I’m not saying Big Finish do engage in any sort of trickery. Just saying circumstances can depend on the output and the many different layers and complexities of that. Such is life!

I have to wonder now, given the drama, dishonesty and pettiness from RTD and co. whether or not Tennant's line to Harriet Jones "I can bring your government down with 6 words. Don't you think she looks tired?" was a potshot by RTD saying that he could ruin Eccleston's career by saying he was tired?

I doubt it even given their behaviour it would be an unnecessarily bizarre & mean thing to do.

I was angry with Chris for a long time, i felt he snubbed the show that was somewhat beneath him, however when i discovered he was battling anorexia as well as a troubled production i understand why Chris spoke this way as maybe Doctor Who may have reminded him of a bad time in his personal life. However Chris returned as the Ninth Doctor for Big Finish & i must say smashed the two boxsets I've listened too, he's commited & engaged in his performance acting his line & not just speaking them & given me a whole new appreciation of Chris as a actor & person.

Quite possibly but i severely hope not, ok there were tensions between them but that's not a excuse ruin ones career. Sometimes be the better person & walk away.

I always thought the signs were good for more beyond the initial four sets. I never dreamed we'd get another four sets announced all at once.

Splendid! Simply splendid!
Looks like Christopher Eccleston is here to stay at Big Finish and I love that I can finally say that.
Also, the brief teasers for upcoming stories sound rather interesting. Hopefully we’ll get a Sapphire and Steel vine for the one set at a train station. Unless it tends out to be him meeting an extremely young Rev W. Awdry.
Either option is fine really.

I said this once before, but it bears repeating:
What a hell of a time we're having. One hell of a time.

I'm not surprised about the latest great news. Eps 1-6 radiated joy. There's no mistaking it.
But yes, thanks to him and anyone who helped convince him a million times over.

Oh HELL YES
I’m so so glad to read he’s enjoying this. His enthusiasm really shows in his performance. Hats off to the kind folks at Big Finish.

Imagine being told in January 2020 that Eccleston would be returning to the role, and that we'd get 8 volumes in the span of 3 years. That's incredible, I'm so happy for him that he's fallen in love with Big Finish.

So, they're labeled 2.1 and 2.2 on their disc sets. God of Phantoms is digitally endorsed as Volume 4. There may end up being no Volume 3 on the shelves of CD collectors of Philip Hinchcliffe Presents. Good Grief
