Doctor Who Magazine did a comic back in the Eighth Doctor years with the Day of the Dead and Frida Kahlo, as part of the arc that was collected in Oblivion.Frida Kahlo would honestly make a really great celebrity historical. You could get weird with visuals that reflect Khalo's art. yes! That would be brilliant! You could even have animated segments!

The Doctor almost being defeated by a villain because they are so happy and enjoying life that they don’t notice what’s going on before it’s almost too late.
The Doctor gets chosen as a celebrity contestant on an intergalactic version of Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the stars, which of course would have some sinister threat taking down all the contestants. Not sure which incarnation I would picture for this, who ever would be funniest in this situation😄
The Doctor experiments on themself and it backfires horribly in some way.

Very grumpy, dry, cynical, sarcastic... he is also supposed to be the last of the Time Lords, so is also carrying that burden (until another Time Lord shows up.... basically mimicking the story we got on TV, but in a more mature and less over the top way).
We get some really funny awesome scenes (many of them the above mentioned embarrassing scenes which the Doctor tries to hide/ explain away, but Benny just does not buy it), but we also explore the character and a universe that is about to die.... so you get an intense contrast between deeply moving scenes where you cry of sadness and funny scenes where you cry of laughing. Basically, you will cry. A lot. I won't spoil anything, because you need to listen and it will be so awesome when you experience it unspoiled and just get hit by all the ridiculous surprises and scenes.
Plus, you can just go into this without any previous knowledge. You only need to know that Benny is a former companion of 7 who gets kidnapped by the Warner Doctor who is from another universe (where he is the last of the Time Lords after the Time War). And that other universe is dying, because of the fallout of the Time War.
I am definitely trying this!😀 Another recommendation for this. All the Benny+Warner Doctor vols are excellent. Imagine him as an alternative and older Third Doctor might have been, another 'version' who's been in his body a long time, seen far too much and never gained all that charm, tact and patience(!) that my Third Doctor learned in dealing with humans during his exile to Earth... But his hearts are still pure gold.
It might be a good idea to begin with the Warner Doctor's first two appearances in two of the 'Unbound' stories: 'Sympathy for the Devil' and 'Masters of War'. Not essential for following the Benny sets but useful (especially the first one) and imo they're among the best things BF has ever done. Yes, really they're that good!

The Doctor getting kidnapped and a league of current and former companions have to come together using all their talents to rescue them. Not sure which companion would be the group leader though, perhaps Susan, Ace, Rose, River Song, or Clara? They seem the most likely candidates🤔
The Doctor discovering there is a secret former Doctor’s companion support group where former companions of the Doctor get together and offer support to each other about transitioning to life after their travels with the Doctor and exchange stories about how traveling with them changed and effected them. The location of the support group exists in a bubble so former companions from all different time periods and locations can access it.

In a story from the DWMS special holiday issue 1992-Sarah Jane and Jo get in touch with each other (this doesn’t quite align with Death of the Doctor) and place a newspaper ad asking for response from anyone who the word TARDIS means something to. Liz, Tegan and Ace respond and they meet up. tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Girls%27_Night_In_(short_story)

A Fawlty Towers homage story with Sixie 😁
The Doctor and a companion go to what they think is just a traditional welcoming ceremony only for it to be a wedding ceremony for the two of them, because the people on the planet misunderstood their relationship to each other and thought that they were fiancés. The Doctor and companion only discover the misunderstanding after the ceremony is over and the people there offer to put them up for their honeymoon, hilarity then ensues.
A companion takes the Doctor to a night club with their friends and the Doctor ends up getting more into dancing and partying than they do and the companion ends up having to practically force the Doctor out of the night club and carry them back to the TARDIS😄

A Fawlty Towers homage story with Sixie 😁 One could interpret The Two Doctors as having a little pastiche of Fawlty Towers. Lets face it, a scene where the Restaurateur is fatally stabbed, yet it is played for a laugh and then brushed aside for a comic scene outside was pretty black humour for the show, and still is.

A companion/companions giving the Doctor an intervention.
The Doctor throwing a birthday party for a companion or a companion throwing a birthday party for the Doctor.
The Doctor surprising a companion with something big they worked really hard on and think will be something really nice and exciting for them only for the surprise to be something that upsets, disturbs, and confuses their companion instead.

The Doctor travelling with a historical figure of ill repute at a time before they have committed the crimes/acts that would make them infamous in an attempt to perhaps not reform them. But that the experience of seeing the majesty of the universe would allow them to have a different perspective going forward.
Be a hard one to do but it could be interesting none the less.

A story either of regeneration (or another kind of transformation) of the Doctor where the change happens in front of a massive group of people who are completely horrified witnessing what they interpret as body horror.
12 using his guitar playing to help heal someone by distracting them from the physical and or emotional pain they are experiencing.
13 saving the day with one of her inventions or one of her inventions causing the episode’s problem.
The Doctor being tricked by a villain into changing their persona to something more “conventionally appealing to the general public” in order to achieve some nefarious goal.
An incarnation of the Doctor who regularly talks to plants and has a greenhouse themed TARDIS.
The Doctor being trapped in an evil Punch and Judy show.
The Doctor getting turned into a vampire temporarily.
A monster that kills people by licking them.
A modern Who episode filmed in black and white.
A story satirizing the concept of the “Heartthrob Doctor”.

A story similar to the Batman: The Animated Series story ‘Over the Edge’
Basically boils down to U.N.I.T. Versus The Doctor. The TARDIS has been grounded, his companions arrested and with The Brigadier/Kate Stewart forced to step down the Doctor must go on the run.
Probably would work best as an alternate timeline story or something. I could imagine a scene where U.N.I.T. is practically ransacking the Black Archive to find something that could open the TARDIS.
Now that I think about it, I think there is an Eighth Doctor novel which has a similar premise. And there are certainly elements of it in the Daniel Hopkins Trilogy with the idea of a more militant UNIT.

A story with an evil music box of alien origin.
The Doctor does something drastic to themselves they think is a good idea but then it eventually backfires horribly.
A episode done in the style of a horror anthology complete with wrap around segments complete with a horror host either the Doctor themselves or a villain (perhaps the Master or an original one).
The Doctor gets tricked into taking in a con artist pretending to be a former beloved companion only for the con artist to actually become a valuable companion in their own way. It eventually would be revealed that the con artist is the former companion but they lost their memory.

I did have an idea for a fourth Doctor/Blake's 7 crossover, the main point of which is that the Doctor eventually realises that he's chosen the wrong side (he goes to the rescue of a seemingly-defenceless Federation outpost being attacked by Avon & co.).
The Daleks in B7 was nixed by the BBC back in the 1970s, and BF have seem surprisingly unwilling to go down this particular crossover path, but the idea of the Doctor fighting the heroes by mistake has legs, I think.

Never seen Blake’s 7, but I love the concept of the Doctor choosing the wrong side and fighting the heroes! That would be an interesting concept!🤔😀

A few more: At some point the Doctor will have a companion that seems strangely familiar they are an office worker from London , have a loud sassy personality with a firey temper, and a good heart, they also talk a lot about their mother. The Doctor swears they they remind them of someone they used to know but they can’t put their finger on it. That is until their companion takes the Doctor to meet their mother and it’s revealed that their mom is none other than Donna Noble! The Doctor panics worrying what will happen if she remembers, and then she does...... An affectionate but tongue and cheek story where the Doctor discovers fan fiction about themselves and then tries to anonymously write fan fiction themselves, perhaps taking place in the land of fiction. A story where the Doctor the Doctor slowly and painfully becomes human over time. A story for 13 where she must pretend to be a man, possibly in the style of a Shakespeare comedy. A story for 12 in the style of the movie, Phantom of the Paradise. If unfamiliar: youtu.be/T9yof8cwli4
