Really like the idea that the Time Lords aren’t exactly sure of the War Doctor if not downright suspicious of him. Wonder how far this idea will carry on along the remaining three boxsets.
Although, to be honest, with the amount of temporal intervention in the Time War I’m surprised the Tharil’s heads haven’t just exploded.

Yeah, that is what really jumped out for me in the news piece. Great idea and curious how it'll play out. Based on the synopsises alone, I am surprised how quick they seem to be getting the War Doctor into action. I was expecting a quieter first episode, but that may be too similar to The Innocent in Only the Monstrous; could've been an interesting parallel, though. I'm also pleasantly surprised that we've got a couple of returning characters played by their respective actors. It wasn't terribly likely, but when they first announced the set and Ohila was recast, alongside John Hurt himself, I was a little dubious whether this would be something that would / could effectively exist in its own bubble. I wouldn't expect, or necessarily want, plenty of returning characters, but I would like to know whether the actors would be reprising their roles.

Historically speaking, the Sisterhood and the Time Lords haven't seen eye-to-eye. If the War Doctor came from their magic (real or imagined), he could be seen as "belonging" to them. A Time Lord in technicality only.

With.. other vendor's slowly having minimal stock due to world events, I am leaning towards doing a few bundle packages over the next few months : /photo/1

Not really relevant to this boxset suppose but considering the Tharils are a time sensitive species I do wonder if we’ll get an appearance by the Chronovores down the line in a future boxset.
Mind you, they’d probably consider something such as a Time War below their attention and a petty squabble between mortals.

Well I was opinion the drink was placebo only otherwise the sisterhood drinking it might be a brotherhood 😂 Well, as with all good magic, it's all about where you're not looking, rather than where you are... The Sisterhood are rather great as a concept, I like them a lot. Answering the question of Are they malevolent? with "They're dangerous, but that's not necessarily the same thing." Still, if you're the one tied to the stake about to be set alight, I suppose the distinction doesn't mean very much ("I would like to argue semantics!" / "Now?" / "Well, I haven't the time later!"). It's curious that the Time Lords, with all their power and influence, still essentially left the cult alone. A bit of Dark Times pre-Reason power on their doorstep. Then again... Nothing changes on Karn. It stagnates as much as Gallifrey does and the Elixir would mean that they'd have no need to seek out more followers. Not that they seem particularly interested in proselytising anyone to the fold. Must be a Kasterboran good neighbour policy. "Don't bother us and we won't bother you." All set to change if the War's anything to go by...

So could The Shadow Squad be the Doctor Who version of The Suicide Squad?
The name with a reference to the Shadow Houses would make sense, but the write up does not seem to back that notion up.

Maybe this is the adventure that sets up the idea of the Time Lord Suicide Squad? For example, the events that take place here inspire the idea within the ranks of the Time Lords. All just speculation though on my part.

Well there is no casting info on what members of the shadow squad are So I doubt it would be characters we already know

Interesting... Perhaps Nick will vocalise his inner Harley Quinn. I am now picturing a red Dalek with black diamond shaped humps and plenty of attitude.

It's uncanny how much Jonathon Carley sounds like John Hurt in this trailer, I'm impressed. Good job for hiring him, Big Finish.

Can only echo my sentiments in just how uncanny that impersonation is. Really spot on.
I’m curious to know if by the sounds of this trailer they’ll explore what further role Karn and its respective Sisterhood will play in the Time War.

I think the voice varies between John Hurt from 1979 and 2013, but it’s very much John Hurt and rather staggering how close Jonathan Carley is. Great trailer and looking forward to the set.
