Here is a excerpt from the Daily mail article
There has been outrage on Twitter, with many users pointing out that John's 'tomfoolery' could be regarded as indecent exposure, and that the fact it happened among work colleagues is no excuse. 'You don't do that in work. You don't do it full stop. If you did it in the city centre you'd be arrested,' posted one user.
So does he regret the way he behaved? 'You can't wind the clock back,' he says.
'They were different times, which is why I wouldn't do now what I did then. I've acknowledged that by the way my behaviour has changed. The trouble is that certain cancel culture enthusiasts are not allowing me to acknowledge it. I've always believed that the reason I was put on this planet was to bring joy to people, make them laugh. How I do that has evolved over the years. I'm still using humour, just in a different way than might have been the case ten or 20 years ago.'
Now, he says, he wants to move on, both personally and professionally. Many years ago he bought a house for his parents down the street from where he lives with Scott.
'They're getting on now and I've been their primary carer throughout the pandemic, doing their shopping, getting their prescriptions from the pharmacy and so on. My mother broke her pelvis at one stage but she's on the mend now. I'm just thankful I can keep an eye on her and my father. I'm thankful too to the scientists for coming up with the means by which we can combat Covid via vaccinations, and the healthcare workers for administering them and looking after us so selflessly. We owe them a great debt of gratitude.'
What about professionally? 'Well, I'm at the early stages of putting together a show full of anecdotes and songs that will tour throughout the UK when restrictions are finally lifted. As far as I'm concerned, it's back to business as usual.'
But it remains to be seen later this year with the announcement of the line-up for Dancing On Ice whether John's career too might be put on ice.

The reason he hasn't apologised is that he doesn't know who to apologise to - no one specific (to my knowledge, but I could be wrong) has said that he made them feel uncomfortable, and if they had, he could have apologised to them privately.

That’s the thing really. I’m not condoning Barrowman’s actions here but it could be seen as damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If you make a private apology to those involved, it’ll be viewed as having not done enough or being flippant about the whole situation. But if you instead go down the usual ‘release a statement’ route and make a huge public apology, it could be viewed as insincere and merely an attempt to save face. Tricky business all things considered.

Came here to see what the reaction was to the Daily Fail interview. I agree with most of you.
He's not said he's sorry about what he did or even said he regrets it. When asked, he said "You can't turn the clock back" which isn't an answer.
I don't think the therapy is for his need to expose himself, I think its to deal with his bruised ego.
I've said for ages that if he just apologises, takes the L, and promises not to do it again, his career could recover.
But his pride wont let him, will it?

The thing is, as I see it, he is one person in a large team of talented contributors, and we buy into a fictional character, not a real world personality.
The sooner this blows over and the #50 celebratory release is out there for those who want it, the better. Prior releases are still on sale, Torchwood is still there for its fans. The cancellation seems to be one of inopportune timing. Only those who have no intention of purchasing wish it to be permanent, it seems.
I wager it will sell well if made available, its demand is undiminished. Lets move on.

I think he could quite easily say sorry. But he's also using the typical getting therapy line, so many people like this use that response. Passing the buck, it's not his fault he needs therapy apparently to stop him getting his penis out. Most children learn this at a young age.

It won't blow over if he keeps talking to right wing newspapers about it without apologising. I guess well know by September when Dancing On Ice comes back with or without him.

We're never going to get Absent Friends, are we? I think we will get it at some point, the only question is when. I think it will depend on Barrowman's career generally (Dancing on Ice, etc.) and the degree to which he is regarded or not regarded as person non grata. I'm assuming it will ultimately be the Beeb's decision, not BF's.
Worst case scenario - it may be long after everyone involved and affected is dead, but it will come out eventually.

For every one BF TW customer who boycotts it there will be another BF customer who does not, a new customer who wants to know what all the fuss is about, scalpers who want to buy something "rare" for future resale.
I wager that rightly or wrongly it will be the quickest sold-out CD ever.

With all the history coming out now about Barrowman, and all the bad press that follows, what will happen to Jack? I can't see them recasting him, so would they replace him as a main force? Is this a good time to get and bring back Rex? Being he is tied so strongly with Torchwood does that mean it's over? Time for Face of Boe? Or just audios where Jack is elsewhere like most of the monthly? Thoughts? Funny to read the OP now. Did anyone reply to the original question in the thread.
Here's my twopenniesworth:
It has been established that post Children of Earth Jack tends to come and go, so I don't see a problem with the character disappearing from the narrative.
I think the character of Rex is out due to rights issues and actor availability issues
Yvonne Hartmann / Tracey Oberman is more than strong enough to carry series 7 as the lead without Jack, with Mr Colchester as the no 2. Maybe bring back Gwen if Eve is available?

I suppose you could always have Zachary Cross fill in the role as well. Just slap a Vortex Manipulator on him and send him back to the 21st century. With his actions in the past of Torchwood having potential negative ramifications on its future come his home time period.
