Thanks for the replies (which I missed reading a week ago) so I will keep an eye out for the next Seventh Doctor Sale, and 'Fiesta of the Damned' had better be in it!
It's not a story (or a trilogy) I remember hearing much about for some reason?
Beware - opinionated thoughts approaching, which should be taken with a large bucket of salt ...
Life of Crime, which kicked off the trilogy, was a surprisingly lackluster story from the usually reliable Matt Fitton. I loved the idea of Ace and Mel traveling with the Seventh Doctor together, but it was never made as interesting as it could have been. The final of the three stories, Maker of Demons was equally forgettable, featuring - as I remember - a version of Ace which returned her more irritating juvenile traits, which was disappointing, given that this was supposed to be a more mature version of the character - great cover though.
Fiesta of the Damned, by contrast, is the sparkling jewel in the crown. Not perfect of course, but memorable for its performances, setting and story. Highly recommended!
