Well, that's a guaranteed buy. Also, nice to Angela Bruce returning to the world of Doctor Who.

Great Artwork Indeed
These were also apparently the Scripts they had ready to convince the BBC it was worth doing the War Doc Begins concept.

I’m liking the idea of a three-hour story in one place. I am a little sceptical of more Dalek involvement given for me the Dalek story of the first set was easily the weakest.

I'm a fan of the Daleks, but they have been so massively over-used that their involvement in a forthcoming story now makes me think that bit harder about buying. I would go as far as to say that if these stories were available separately, then I might skip the Dalek ones. I'm just glad they're not in every story.

Regards mark687 Apparantly they were working on a fifth War Doctor box set when Sir John sadly passed away - do you know if they've reused those ideas anywhere?

Great cover and variety of writers. I’m glad that they’re doing one big story (my criticism with the first set was the stories weren’t back-to-back) and I like the returning Time Lord characters.
I understand what others are saying about the use of the Daleks. I’m hoping this is a more full on Dalek story, that capitalises on the direction they pushed the War Doctor in the previous set. I don’t think the odd skirmish with them that plagued the Eighth Doctor Time War range really works. I’d sooner they be stories just set in the Time War and seeing the effects of it.

I have a question, and it's not specific to this release, but to the War Doctor in general. I'm probably missing something obvious - but how come the War Doctor visibly ages in this incarnation? He starts off with a full head of lustrous brown hair, and ends up as we see him in the 50th special. Other incarnations begin and end looking roughly the same, so are to believe the War Doctor lived far longer than the others? Thanks.

I’d imagine this incarnation has aged more visibly than others due to the stress of fighting in the Time War. If we are simply meant to disregard the idea that he’s particularly long lived. You could also make the argument that the amount of temporal weapons used in the conflict have left their mark on him.

All Doctors age over time - the best examples being 8, who ages visibly between the movie and Night of the Doctor, and 11, who, after protecting Christmas for thousands of years in The Time of the Doctor, clearly looks older than he did after he first regenerated. As grinch pointed out, the number of temporal weapons used in the Time War have probably increased this process.

Other incarnations begin and end looking roughly the same, so are to believe the War Doctor lived far longer than the others? Thanks. I can think of a couple of explanations. first, we are told the Time War lasted hundreds of years (presumably Gallifrey relative years). Doctor's do age naturally, if very slowly; eleven looked very very old by the time he regenerated and eight looks considerably older in Time War than in his early stories. Four aged noticeably during the Leisure Hive (and in the blu-ray of Shada) and even Six has a gap built into one of his stories after which he is said to look noticeably older. My favourite explanation is that at the beginning of the first Hurt War Master set the Doctor is escaping from having set off a time destructor. Getting caught on the edge's of that could well have aged him considerably, and potentially left him suitably worn thin beyond just physical appearance, to explain his otherwise off-key regeneration at the end of Day of the Doctor.

Oh, doesn't the cover look amazing! 🤩 Yeah, Claudia Gironi's style is great! Hope to see her work on other ranges beyond this and the audio novels.
