I can understand the scepticism about Genesis, but The Ark absolutely isn't a "first draft", it's a totally different version, by a different writer, with many different ideas not used in Robert Holmes' version. The release info states, " Cover artwork and full story details are today revealed for two exciting box sets bringing first drafts of classic Doctor Who TV stories to life on audio, due for release in May and June 2023 by Big Finish Productions".

The cover to 'Genesis' also states that it's a 'full cast drama', when in fact only episode one is actually full cast. It's all very strange!

Disc 1 is not just that, it's Disc 1: Full cast version of Terry Nation's first draft of episode one of Genesis of the Daleks, with Nicholas Briggs providing the stage directions, plus readings by individual cast members of the storylines for the other episodes.

Right… Still a very bizarre move in my opinion.

Personally, if I were racking my brains and trying to come up with new stories for the Lost Stories range I’d focus on the revived series and have them released as audiobooks.
Akin to what they did for the last series of Jago and Litefoot.

The "list of things that I'm not going to question" gets longer by the day...

Akin to what they did for the last series of Jago and Litefoot. What makes you think it was a choice between doing that and this? New series Lost Stories strike me as a much more difficult proposition - there's not many of them and some of their writers may still have an eye on using them for TV ideas in the future.

At this point the Philip Hinchcliffe interview holds more interest for me.

At this point the Philip Hinchcliffe interview holds more interest for me. Yes that is all I'm interested in. But not enough to buy this release.

The Ark cover has been updated. Titled “The Ark” rather than “Doctor Who and the Ark” and a few changes to the art, notably Wirrn has been replaced with a different design and Molloy’s Noah now has a gun rather than the infected arm. www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/doctor-who-the-ark-2568

So … “puffball ark” is full cast? A “performed media” not a “narrated script reading”?

So … “puffball ark” is full cast? A “performed media” not a “narrated script reading”? I think so It seems its the Script for Full-cast as Lucarotti intended without any of Holmes influence hence no Wirrin, though why BF can't simply say that I don't know. Regards mark687

The Ark is the original version before Robert Holmes performed his wholesale rewrite, which is so different as to be more or less an entirely different story beyond the basic premise of "space ark under invasion from aliens". I don't think BF have been unclear about that.
