So, it is at most 194 days until the Ninth Doctor Adventures. I'm managing quite nicely. Say, is there anyway they could release it sooner...like right now, for instance? Let me and my hostages--I mean friends--know as soon as possible. They're dying to know what happens!

Let me and my hostages--I mean friends--know as soon as possible. They're dying to know what happens! I think it was our very own themeddlingmonk who suggested the idea, but I agree with them that I think it’s highly likely we’ll get a Christmas/New Years announcement regarding the Ninth Doctor. Next to Masterful, it’s arguably next years most anticipated release. Speaking only on behalf of myself of course. In any case, I suggest making sure your “friends” are kept watered and fed in the meantime.

I choose to believe the lack of daily news no the main Website this week means multiple new Recordings are happening!

That happened to me over 12 months ago- despite me putting a request in writing that if they see anything from "Big Finish Productions" or "Book Depository" it's all fine, all good.. Nope. I get a call from the Phillipenes with someone who breached APP (Australian Privacy Principles) .. Luckily the call was recorded on their end as I escalated it to the Financial Ombudsman.. The person got "severely retrained", I got a written apology as well.
Don't mess with my ability to order my cd's and vinyls LOL

I just got an email asking me to verify it was me, but I called the bank next day to verify the email was actually from them... I don't get it as I've bought from Big Finish before, and spent more on a single purchase from another website a few weeks ago? it was "digital privacy day" too, lol.

Yeah, PayPal wanted me to change my password because of "unusual activity" - first time that has ever happened. I checked but the only activity I saw was the usual Big Finish shopping, lol.

I am going to do another order within 24 hours..

I've recently started having some 'we're sending a confirmation code to your mobile' checks from the card company when using BF, including for very small amounts. (Do we ever spend 'a very small amount' at BF? Well - rarely, but yes it does happen... )
So I guess they are becoming much more careful about security for online purchases, maybe even more so for intangible ones like DLs.
Good!

When you run home from doing overtime at work to try and 'win' a signed copy of 'The Roof Of The World' on Ebay... (I was outbid at the last second, for the record).

I once sneaked out of a meeting to try to bag an auction item on ebay. And failed. But I'd have gotten away with it if the pesky mobile signal hadn't dropped out!
'The Roof of the World' is a much underestimated story imo especially as part of Erimem's arc, and a better 'Lovecraftian' story than the actual Lovecraft story the MR did last year. So if you have to settle for the DL, it's worth it!

I've heard mixed things about it, but I'd happily give it a listen to once... There are ones up for a similar price but, well, it would have been nice to have a signed copy (I've also grabbed 'The Witch From The Well' and 'Unregenerate' that have been signed).

If you’re a fan of Lovecraft pastiches may I politely suggest you give Lurkers at Sunlight’s Edge a listen if you haven’t already? It’s far more overt with its references to his works but arguably does it better then Roof of the World.

Very good suggestion, thanks - I did hear it on our Hex arc run-through a couple of years ago and it makes a good monster story doesn't it? With a much gentler "version" of almost-Lovecraft than the real man.
I'm not a fan of Lovecraft's worlds or monsters but I have really enjoyed several stories which pastiche them - these older two in the MR and a couple of absolute crackers in 'The Scarifyers': 'The Devil of Denge Marsh' and 'The Horror of Loch Ness', two of my favourites of that always brilliant series.

It's been a couple of years since I listened to it last (I did a run-through of the 7/Ace/Hex releases a while ago) and whilst I wasn't the biggest fan of it when it came out (late 2010, so I'd have been 17), I do have a fair appreciation for it nowadays... As Hex's first story, The Harvest, is set this year, I am thinking about giving it another run-through at that point.
