A few tidbits of info I did not notice in this thread: Its kinda old news already but the "magic the gathering" cardgame is doing a collaboration with doctor who: what's relevant for this thread is that it will involve Gatwa's incarnation and others not yet released content of the programme. It is planned to be released around the time of the 60th. www.dicebreaker.com/games/magic-the-gathering-game/news/magic-the-gathering-doctor-who-set-2023On another note, RTD confirmed in his tribute to Cribbins of the latest DWM that yes he did involve him in the current production, although most of us already knew due to the outdoor shootings. Finally, NPH slipped that he shot "a" episode of dr who, singular. It's in the first question he answers here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHLnURfebC4

Armando Innauci, the man who made Capaldi with Malcolm Tucker, defends Who from the anti-woke crowd. With a guy of his pedigree... just saying, he'd be a get for an episode. www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/armando-iannucci-doctor-who-woke-newsupdate/(And a reminder, since this song and dance happened last year - Edinburgh TV Fest is an industry only event. It is not Comic Con. You're not going to get big Who announcements from it.)

Ayling-Ellis has denied the rumour. So whose next among RTD’s and Gatwa’s Instagram followers to be rumoured by the Twitter fandom I wonder.

Meanwhile Gatwa’s Instagram has disappeared. Hopefully it’s not another case of online fandoms driving an actor away.

I dreamt of what the 60th anniversary was…. It’s Yaz, Dan and THE MASTER stomping through time looking for fragments of the Doctor courtesy of clues via some photographs (there are 20 or so photos - basically one per acknowledged Doctor, the War Doctor and the Morbius Doctors). Each photo is of an important point in space and time for the Doctor, and there’s an echo of the Doctor there (from Yaz’s perspective, they all look “her” Doctor, but the Master sees the individual Doctor). Each “echo” is a sort of CGI hologram/ghost effect of the Doctor. It’s very emotional, because effectively at this point the Doctor is categorically dead and gone, and it’s sort of Yaz saying goodbye to the Doctor, while the Master is there for his own reasons (basically, he knows the Doctor CAN come back via some process, but is trying to prevent it, but is being manipulated). Eventually the Doctor starts to reassemble themselves but the Master rigs it so it’s not “Yaz’s Doctor” who comes back, but the tenthish Doctor because he was 9the most fun” according to the Master. Yaz realises her Doctor is gone, and leaves because it’s too painful to look at the new Doctor.

'Tally Time!'
-Russel T. Davies is back as showrunner. He has already written several scripts. -Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter return to produce, as will Phil Colinson. -The new era is a co-production between BBC Studios and Bad Wolf, which itself is a subsidiary of Sony Pictures TV. -There are three specials for the 60th. S14 to follow TBA, with filming beginning in November. -Disney+ is lobbying for international streaming rights. -Rachel Talalay returns to direct. Joined by new director Chanya Button. -Ncuti Gatwa is the 14th Doctor. -Casting director Andy Pryor promises a commitment to diverse casting, with more roles for disabled people. -There will be a new logo. -David Tennant, the late Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Catherine Tate have returned in their respective roles for the 60th. In addition, Yasmin Finney is playing Rose Temple-Noble, Donna's daughter, meaning this is all post TEOT. Rose2 will be transgender, like Finney. -Neil Patrick Harris has been cast as the main antagonist, the 'greatest enemy the Doctor has ever faced'. He sports both a Geppeto-esque and Fred Astaire costume. -UNIT will return. They seem to be investigating the arrival of a spherical spaceship. -A fluffy white alien and insect aliens have been spotted. Seemingly, Rose finds one of them with a friend character. -Tennant is getting a new sonic, as well as a new grey-blue variant of his outfit. -Filming has occurred in Cardiff, Wembley, Bristol and Camden Town, specifically Camden Market. -An episode will features the 1920s, a circus and a toyshop. -An episode will feature a huge riot, presumably caused by NPH's character, who literally dances right through it. -Segun Akinola will not return as composer. -Pete McTighe still wishes to continue working on the show in future, as does Mark Gatiss.
-RUMOUR: Beep the Meep and the Wrath Warriors are back. RTD references the return of villains from the comics in DWM. -RUMOUR: The Celestial Toymaker is returning, played by NPH. Toy machines were also sighted during the Camden Market shoot. -RUMOUR: The Specials will be broadcast Christmas/New year, Easter and November. -RUMOUR: 1, 11 and 12 may return, due to numbers seen on a slate. -RUMOUR: Each special may focus on a different Doctor, possibly a side-effect of the Centennary regeneration. -RUMOUR: The returning incarnations will not be playing themselves but rather just have the 'current' Doctor use their likeness. -RUMOUR: Tennant is playing some type of special incarnation rather than 10. Possibly a 13.5 or an 'almost 14'. -RUMOUR: Tennant alludes to 'more people' filming, meaning more cameos/returns in the 60th. -RUMOUR: There's some type of reality distortion at play. Perhaps even something like the Land of Fiction. -RUMOUR: Ruth Madeley has been cast as a 'scientist' - possibly Hebe from Water Worlds? -RUMOUR: Mel Bush is returning. -RUMOUR: The new TARDIS interior has been redesigned to be wheelchair accessible. -RUMOUR: RTD wants Who to embrace an MCU model of multiple spin off shows. -RUMOUR: Scott Handcock is script editing S14. In addition, other BF staff may be involved in writing S14. -RUMOUR: Ed Thomas may return to direct.

Well RTD’s not shying away his views on today’s political development: http://instagram.com/p/CiIAvQ6tSE8 Hopefully his general anger in the direction of modern politics is inspiring some good TV at least.

RTD's archenemy Nadine Dorries is stepping down as culture secretary (the defacto media secretary for the UK). www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nadine-dorries-quits-culture-secretary-b2160452.htmlDon't cheer yet - dumb and vicious as she was, she was at least the devil you know, predictable. There's every chance her replacement will not only be worse, but if some of the favourites are indeed accurate choices, far more aggressive and beligerant towards the BBC and anything connected to it.

James Page has secured the role of Doctor Who Brand Manager. Best of luck to him and well deserved. It’s a role that was never filled after Ed Russell departed at the end of the Moffat era, but one that’s absolutely needed for the show, I think.

Third 60th director seemingly confirmed. Most well known for his work on Ghosts (which is brilliant) and Stath Lets Flats.

Has anyone else heard anything anywhere about a ghost story for the 60th, or are people just going off Kingsley's past show?

And we have her replacement, Michelle Donalan. A boring nobody who has the same views as Dorries, so who knows for BBC and Channel 4's futures, just nowhere the gaff/meme factor.
Oh well, RTD has plenty of other options to mock in the new cabinet.

Politics? Is this now off topic thread? No because the current administration has had a dangerous axe to grind with the BBC for the last decade and it's something that has/will impact what is and isn't getting made. Even with the current production arrangement, it's not like Who will be 100% immune to any collateral damage. Not to mention it's a topic that RTD cares about deeply, given not just BBC and Channel 4 have been the main makers of his stuff, but also job creators for people who have/will work on Who one day.
Plus, he will very likely satirise them in some form in S14, so it's just good to be aware of who's most likely.
