The 'bigeneration devalues the finality or weight of past Doctors' deaths' is a point I can't get behind, simply because well, look at the whole franchise. Multi-Doctor stories, new adventures with those Past Doctors being constantly made, and the show acknowledging, in-universe, that they are all existing, more or less, at the same time as each other - are or have any of the Doctors ever truly gone?

Bigeneration doesn't "solve" 6B. For instance, if the Second Doctor in The Two Doctors is post regeneration then the changes inflicted on him by the Androgums wouldn't affect Six. So reading between the lines, once he finally dies Tennant still leads to Gatwa, as Gatwa implies he's back to being happy and carefree as a result of all the mental healing Tennant is about to do. It's just that there's a weird temporal shift going on. This feels like it ties in quite nicely with the way the abbot regenerates in Planet of the Spiders, though I'd need to draw a flowchart to be sure I'd got it straight in my head. Long way of saying, anything that happens to Troughton post regeneration would still affect Pertwee. Hmm, so then it DOES solve 6B. But that means it definitely* rules out any past Doctor regenerating again and forming another 3, or another 15 for instance. * For a given value of definitely!

The Ninth Doctor is okay, until being sucked into metaverse where he is recast as Sean Bean due to the unavailability of Christopher Eccleston. And immediately DIES.

Hmm, so then it DOES solve 6B. I was never a fan of the 6B theory, now I'm trying to get my head around bi-regeneration and all that it means... it's making me dizzy trying to work it all out for every regeneration based on RTD's comments on Doctor Who: Unleashed. I might just find myself accepting 6B instead and sleeping easily!

Bi-regeneration DOES explain the Valeyard though. It just means a future Doctor will look like 1980s Michael Jayston.

I watched "The Giggle" again last night and 15 does say that bi-generation has never happened before and it was only able to happen due to the Toymaker's interference. So the idea of it going back down The Doctor's timeline and affecting all of his regenerations doesn't really fit well. At least, not as it was described in the episode. I think. Maybe.
Oh, hell. Who knows?

All this nonsense about past Doctors now bi-generating is just that, nonsense. The feverings of RTDs brain.

Scripts for all 2023’s specials have been uploaded to BBC’s online library. Also added is SJA and Tales of the TARDIS.

Interesting bits from the scripts - The Star Beast -No sign of the “once upon a Time Lord” opener. So that must have been added late in production -The Fourteenth Doctor’s sonic debuts at Camden when Beep’s spaceship crashes. Even he seems surprised by its new abilities. -A flashback to the wedding and lottery ticket from The End of Time is scripted during the Doctor and Shaun’s chat in the cab. -The “binary”/“non-binary” part of the reveal about Rose is absent. Also more explicit flashbacks to the monsters the toys represent is scripted, including Karvanista for the dog.
Wild Blue Yonder: -The TARDIS’ groan “will come back to haunt [the Doctor], one day” -As scripted the Doctor does seem to pick up Mavity is wrong. -The script largely keeps up the deception played out on screen of which Doctor and Donna are not-things. For example in the scenes of them split up it’s only when not-thing Donna melts that the script revealed which is which.
The Giggle: -The laughing politician has a name: Prime Minister Edward Lawn Bridges -There’s a bizarre bit that was cut where UNIT locks up nuclear missile codes to keep them safe and a man with blonde hair tries to steal them back. -Gough’s Toymaker is referred to as “First Toymaker” for the brief colourised flashback. -The Toymaker is actually scripted to sing Spice Up Your Life, rather than just mouth along. -Mel recalls her previous (albeit unconscious) experience with regeneration, namechecking the Rani and Lakertya. -In a cut line the Fifteenth Doctor notes it’s only been 15 hours since Power of the Doctor. -There’s an alternate version of the Fourteenth Doctor’s ending, featuring Wilf on a motorised wheelchair armed with a shotgun to attack the moles. This is the only additional appearance of Wilf to what we got onscreen. The onscreen version of the scene is also in the script (there are two Scenes 57s).
Church: -The appearance of Isaac Newton’s housekeeper in Ruby’s audience is explicit. -The Doctor explains to Ruby that the Goblins exist due to the Toymaker and the giggle, which evidently got cut. -A cut bit had the Doctor point out UNIT Tower to Cherry, claiming she could get compensation from them for the cracks and to mention Shirley.

It is odd that they would cast Neil Patrick Harris and not have him actually sing that bit. I wounder why it was changed.

All of the cut stuff pretty much lines up with the additional bits presented in the Target novelisations. I think the “Once Upon a Time Lord” bit was added quite late after filming and the episode pretty much locked in. Rachel Talalay wasn’t involved with it - and I get the impression doesn’t like it - and everyone else involved that’s mentioned it says it came as a surprise to them. I wish they’d kept the sonic scene in The Star Beast with the Doctor’s surprise; it was also one of the most widely shared pieces from filming too. The scene from The Giggle about the nuclear codes being locked up is a bit more expansive in the novelisation and not as weird as it reads in the script. Essentially Kate activates a UNIT override and all of the nuclear codes across the world are kept in a bunker deep beneath Washington. It’s guarded by six soldiers and location is only known to three. One of them is the new President of the United States, who is demanding them as he’s become a victim of the Giggle, as with the Prime Minister a scene beforehand. The script just makes it read like a dodgy Trump satire, so grateful that it was cut.
