Aye nice to have her confirmed. Look forward to all the (imaginary) scenery being devoured.

A random thought. But maybe with the reintroduction of Mrs Wormwood, this could lead the way to having the Bane possibly make a re appearance?
Maybe even in a future Classic Doctors, New Monsters set?

I just found out that producer Emily Cook was also the producer/showrunner of the various Lockdown short films and short stories. And is the producer of UNIT: Brave New World. Now I’m even more excited for this than I already was.

Excellent interview, really looking forward to this. I must admit I’m slightly disappointed Rani and Clyde aren’t together like I always presumed they would end up being.

Excerpt was enjoyable and sets an intriguing and fun plot right from the off, it's promising. Rani and Clyde might have aged since their last adventure but I think their dialogue manages to fully recapture their friendship, it almost gives off the impression we're hearing them right where we left off, just with new adult circumstances they have to deal with. My only concern seems to be the pace...? Granted it has to reintroduce and establish a lot, bridging a 15 year gap, I guess, but it jumps from A to B rather quickly and I can imagine it being a little jarring for people. On the one hand I'm worried it might make the stories feel rushed, on the other, the quick pace makes me think at least there's no dawdling and actually fondly reminds me of how quickly situations would escalate in SJA. So while it's concerning, I can almost visualise this like a TV episode, at least from this twelve minute excerpt anyway. May take a little getting used to. Captures that era so nicely though.

Judging by the end of that video they’ve got Luke in the next set…

Will be giving the set a chance, and more intrigued by the second volume, but blimey I thought the trailer was really rough. Also I think they’re putting themselves on the back foot by trying to sell this as being in the present day (well technically the future if it’s 15 years after 2011!), but are using promo pictures of the cast - they’re meant to be twice that age now and as minor as it may seem, I think it does have an impact on the imagery the mind creates and what the stories will be trying to portray.

I'm pretty sure the cover art is from recent photos - Rani's hair on the cover is much closer to Anjli Mohindra's current style than Rani's hair from the TV show, and Daniel Anthony really hasn't aged at all, so it's difficult to tell.

I’m not saying they don’t have composite elements - Will Brooks does it well - but they’re images from The Sarah Jane Adventures. They’re not photos from 2023. The trailer and Volume 2 cover reinforce that (although they do look to have aged Mrs Wormwood!). I don’t disagree that they’ve not aged well, but they do look older than what’s being portrayed.
As I say, it’s minor in the grand scheme but that, coupled with the poor trailer and revering back to SJA without the titular lead - it’s not as great of a sell as it could be.

You know, 'The Witching Tree' being set in my home-town was not something I was expecting when I woke up this morning...
