I know only the finished product will tell but I’m not exactly blown away by the story details here.

I think there's too much empty space at the bottom of the cover, they might want to resize the logo for future box sets. The one from the Chibnall era looked much more convenient to work with.

They haven't added any Guest Cast on the Cover yet that may explain it (unless that policy is going to change). Regards mark687

I love the concept of the Time War, I've enjoyed all the War Master range and most of the 8th, War Doctor and War Doctor Begins ranges. I'd say most of 8s TW adventures are sold and enjoyable but only a few are 5/5s,
I'd say The Starship Theseus, The Famished Lands, The War Yaleyard and Palindrome are 5/5s for me.
There's a lot of room to go darker, I'm thinking stories similar to Empire Strikes Back, where there is no victory, with characters lost and a narrow escape is the best a hero can hope for. The Doctor more often than not wins in his usual adventures, its refreshing when this is not the case.

Cover art looks nice though the logo should have been at the top of the cover and it looks incredibly inconsistent with the other 4 volumes It’s good to see Jake McGann back
However I’m not happy about Cass being included and the story descriptions make me think twice before preordering

That, or maybe BF originally made the cover with the previous logo in mind ? Since Bliss missing is the elephant in the room, I wonder if it will be addressed or if the writers will just move on and explain that this box set is happening some time after she left the TARDIS.

Or someone causing all this impossible time-shifting is being covered by not being on the covered. DREAM SCENARIO...Who would want to see Cass travel with The Doctor and alter time to make it happen so that he never becomes The War Doctor as we know him? Answer....THE WAR MONK - who wants to be the saviour of Gallifrey himself. Played by Roger Allam (who I will never stop complaining about not being in BF or TV Who till someone fixes it! Must be one of the most achievable bits of casting never used on audio or screen!) There you are BF, you can have that one free!

A bit confused here.

The War Monk should be someone utterly competent, who sends the Daleks literally fleeing in terror and who is utterly depressed that they’ve become “boring” and the reason they’re so effective as an anti-Dalek weapons is that they’re trying more and more elaborate ways of suiciding in order to recapture some of “that old pizazz I used to have”

It's really weird how they went significantly "darker" with Dark Eyes than they ever did with the Time War stuff. It's like Big Finish wanted to make Time War stories, but never put any thought into how Time War stories could or should be different from regular stories. Well, outside of the War Master range, at least.

Well, outside of the War Master range, at least. I've enjoyed 8s Time War Adventures but you're absolutely right, Dark Eyes certainly has a darker portrayal of the 8th Doctor, which at the time was understandable as he'd just lost Lucie and Alex, perhaps losing Alex again will start 8 on a journey towards the lonely figure we saw in Night of the Doctor. For me I've always thought of 8 in the Time Was as a tragic romantic on a rollercoaster of highs and lows ultimately doomed in his perpetual search for hope.

A bit confused here.
Seems to have done. Regards mark687 The Vortex article on Time War 5 says he was credited as Jake in the previous releases he was in - the wording suggests Jake was a stage name and Sonny is his real name? Maybe I'm misunderstanding though
