Count me as another one with Leela fatigue, although it's not really an issue here - I don't mind the character so much in her "proper" setting (ie travelling with Tom or post-Tom on Gallifrey), what annoys me is the continual popping up in other ranges that there is no good or non-contrived in-universe reason for Leela to appear in. She's an agent of Gallifrey, that gives her a good non-contrived reason to pop up anywhere. Might as well complain about anyone else with access to Gallifreyan time travel technology popping up in places, including the Doctor themself.

Just some thoughts, but the following haven't appeared in the first two volumes of this series and could conceivably be in this one: - Sadie Miller's Sarah Jane - Rose - Missy The first two sets featured episodes with BF debutants which were clearly pilots for full series (the Paternoster Gang in Vol. 1 and Rani in Vol. 2), so it will be interesting to see if that pattern holds here. (The recording dates on the product page indicate this set was all done in early 2022, so it doesn't seem likely there'll be a Fugitive Doctor story.) In that case, fingers crossed the other story is an audio pilot for “A Girl’s Best Friend” (I never liked the title K9 & Company).

I could also perhaps see it being a Susan story, possibly featuring her teaming up with her “Step Grandmother” in the form of River Song.
It’s such a fan service idea I can’t see them passing it up even if it’s not for this set.

Given this is being released under the Eighth of March banner and as part of "The Worlds of Doctor Who", I am assuming the second story is something totally different (i.e. not a 4DA). Also, I note that on the cast list Tom is billed third, behind Louise and Holly Jackson Walters, which would suggest his appearance is similar to Sylv's in the Ace/Benny story from the first set. Yes I do Apologise if a Mod could move it to the Worlds of Thread and alter The Thread Title? Regards mark687 I've changed the title for you

I can't say I've ever really 'followed' the 8th of March sets (I've heard the first but not the second), but this story sounds interesting enough, I guess? I'll probably give it a listen to at some point, but I'd need to get round to listening to the second one beforehand... You really don't. It's a very average set. You can skip it and go right to this one if you want.

I think the best thing about The Eighth of March overall is that it’s one of the few anthology releases from Big Finish. You get a variety of characters from across the series, same as Classic Doctors, New Monsters.

Well, I am actually pretty excited about this, even if I did not get the last Women's day release. Yes, yes, I also suffer from Leela fatigue, however, Marie Curie is one of my big heroes and I have been waiting for her to appear in Who for ages. I think this will be right up my alley. I had refrained from buying the last one since the stories sounded uninspired (and from the reviews, turned out to be) but this one has me definitely interested. Even if the second story is something uninspired like River Song hooking up with Madame Vastra to save the second Doctor from the Daleks (just doing a wild guess here, but knowing Big Finish, this will be a thing. Eventually ). I think this might still be a worthwhile set. River and Vastra protecting someone (who turns out to the Fugitive Doctor) from a somehow female Dalek (voiced by Beth Chalmers).

www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-caitlin-blackwood-amelia-pond-big-finish-newsupdate/Story 2 is Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden featuring Michelle Gomez as Missy and Caitlin Blackwood as Amelia Pond. Young Amelia Pond is used to getting into trouble. After another fight at school, she is sent back to counselling. But her new therapist is rather unconventional. Because Missy is also in trouble. Stuck on Earth, she’s targeted one of the Doctor’s best friends to get his attention – but her timing’s off. Amy’s TARDIS encounters lie years in her past and future, but there’s something strange in her garden now. As Missy sets her sights on young Pond, the fairies may be her only hope!
Great to see Caitlin join Big Finish. Been hoping for an Amelia story for a while.

Perhaps this is a little test to see how her character goes, maybe her own range(?) Amelia Pond 90210 since she is a teenager here..

Huh, was not expecting that one. Wonder if they might consider using Blackwood as adult Amy sometime, as she’s in her 20s now so probably sounds closer to her cousin than she does herself as a child.
Honestly, bit ambivalent on this set. Last year’s was fine, but I’d be lying if I said I had the urge to revisit it. Will park on the wait on reviews pile.

I can see the appeal of this story. It’s another way for the Master to be present during Eleven’s tenure without a confrontation between the two characters and Missy has form for interfering by introducing Clara a little bit later on!

Huh. I must admit I really didn’t guess they’d use a Young Amy.
Doubt this’ll be the basis for a whole spin-off range or anything but I could see her perhaps popping up in other ranges. No doubt accompanied by the obligatory mind wipe.
Mind you, I wouldn’t mind seeing Caitlin Blackwood reading a few Short Trips focusing on Young Amy.
