Stories sound neat, but not digging the cover - Michelle and Caitlin look 'off'. Something about the lighting and compositing on them just doesn't sit right with me.

Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden
Decent enough story and very good performances.
Thing is though Amelia and Missy are too similar, you know Missy's manipulations will fail because Amelia's just as self-focused as her.
Interesting that Amelia's background is filled in with new characters rather then the expected 2, some are archetypes, the Teachers. the Bully, the 1st GP/Therapist, however the Best Friend and the Adult at Home have moments of real depth. Also tonally overall I'd call this SFW Class/Torchwood.
3/5
A Ghost of Alchemy
Think a touch of whodunit meets National Treasure with well crafted takes on boththe real Historical Figures and the fictional characters.
4/5

I couldn’t wait to hear Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden
I have been looking forward to hearing Missy again and Amelia for the first time.
Neither disappointed and it was a pleasant way to pass an hour in their company. However I will need to listen to this again to try and understand what the fairies were, what they wanted and what exactly happened.
Perhaps I have been listening to too many audiobooks and need to realign my ears to audio plays.
My rating would be 3/5 as well. But a very solid and enjoyable 3/5.
Just a few random thoughts… Nice to hear that Amelia has her own theme tune. Surprised that neither Roy or Mels got a name drop. Caitlin Blackwood was 100% Amelia Pond. She wasn’t Amy, she is very much Amelia and I hope Big Finish can find a way to do more with her.

So this evening I was being creative with building some of my Warhammer while listening to this.
I really liked Ghost of Alchemy. It is a fun story, with plenty of action, some nice character moments for Leela, Marie Curie and her aides. I just love adventure stories set on trains and this one is no exception- fun and entertaining. Performances are also great for everyone. I was a bit put off by the weird characterisation of the American president (since I have no clue about American presidents and I had never actually heard of that man, I did a google search and found out he is apparently seen as one of the worst presidents in history... however, looking at some of his achievements, I highly doubt that assessment, especially after having witnessed some more recent examples presidential inaptitude). This guy's wife certainly was very capable and she was actively part of his campaigns, but it does not sound as if she ran the show.
I have not yet finished the second story with Amy and Missy- it is also a fun story, and Michelle Gomez is always a treat. But I also thought not pointing out some known characters was a bit of a disappointment. I will finish the story tonight in bed I think.

Just finished A Ghost of Alchemy. I kind of wish they’d just let Louise Jameson write a bunch of historicals now, since this was so fun. Technically it is a Doctor Who story and not as Leela focused as it might have been, but it does keep the focus on the women of the story and Marie Curie. Plus it’s a pure historical so what’s not to love?

A Ghost of Alchemy: I enjoyed this story, although there are some things that do bother me. I have a bit of a hard time with the antagonist being so blatantly misogynistic, but other that it's a fun one. It's the best of all of the 8th of March stories by far. I did like the characterization of Marie Curie, and it was all very well acted. And I agree, love a pure historical. I just wish all of the stories in this set were at least as good as this one.
Fairies at the Botton of the Garden: I'm sorry, I just didn't enjoy this at all. Unfortunately, I thought Caitland Blackwook was terrible, and I didn't believe for a second that this was Amy, nor anything that happened in this. I love Michelle Gomez, but even she couldn't save this one. It's just another poor outing in a range that seems to be full of sub-par stories.

I couldn't agree more. It just feels like it's using a fairytale premise to justify being so very "off".
