Details on the next outing of 11th Doctor and Valarie, featuring a returnee from the last set and an audio debut for the 2006 Cybermen…
Also going by the plot synopsis, it looks like it’s using the Cybermen as an analogy for conversion therapy, which is so ingenious I’m surprised no-one’s done it before.

Great stuff all round. Nice lineup of writers, continuation of the previous set, the Cybermen are perfectly suited for Valerie and their usage sounds like it’ll touch upon new territory. Loving this range and this seems to keep the momentum going, just a shame it’s a 10 month gap between the previous set and this.

I concur. Cover is excellent and it’s good to hear from a new writer.
I must admit I could have sworn the 2006 Cybermen had already appeared in Big Finish before this point. Clearly I was wrong.

I really, really hope he stays at Big Finish after the Doctor Chronicles have ended, as he has such a great grasp of which writers should pen which stories. And seriously, that's only the half of it. So many people at Big Finish are on the lookout for new talent, but Alfie's devoted literally years of his life to giving people the shot that could change everything. Even just finding them isn't enough. You have to be so patient, so generous, to turn a rough idea into a final draft, or a newbie into an experienced pro. A kind person does it once or twice. A saint does it on the side. But Alfie works at new writers like he's trying to dethrone God or something. An unsung hero, honestly. |
