Big one for me today: Doctor Who Ninth Doctor Special (Lost Dimension Part Two, no sign of the Part Three issue that was meant to come out today, but that could be the distributors delaying again) Champions #12 (one and done focusing on Cyclops) Green Lanterns #30 (Out of Time, near the end of the Sam Humphries era) Nightwing #28 (the finale to the Spyral storyline) Secret Empire #10 (the conclusion not counting the Omega issue) Superman #30 (the second and final part of the short arc with Parallax and Sinestro) Green Arrow #30 (the issue of the Hard Traveling Hero arc guest starring Hal Jordan)

Pluto. A reimagined Astro Boy and one that I highly recommend for its depth and breadth of storytelling. An unusual set-up, focussing in on another character called Gescheit before Atom turns up (after which it alternates between the two) with an excellent use of its characters and technological trappings. Definitely worth the look even if you aren't a manga, nor Astro Boy fan.

The Tenth Doctor "Breakfast At Tyranny's" compilation. The title comic was ok, but of the two i much preferred "Sharper Than A Serpent's Tooth"...

The Amazing Screw-On Head and Other Curious Objects. I love Mignola, he has such an interesting view of the world.

Green Lantern Vol. 5 (new 52) #16, which has one of my favorite quotes from the New 52:
"Yes, I do believe you're innocent... and apparently I now also believe in talking squirrels."
I missed most of the Vol.4 issues, and finally found a collected hardcover (part 1) for a reasonable price on eBay. Hope to have it soon.

There are at least 3 Geoff Johns volumes, and I believe you are correct. Vol#1 is the item I got off eBay. Vol#2 & 3 are at my local store, but they're not cheap.

Or can it be taken up independently? I've only read lost dimension # 1 yet..

I haven't read any of the Tenth or Eleventh titan issues before and came in with no problems. Sure, you'll know who the companions are but there's nothing you need to know before hand

I have fond memories of Caerdroia (in no small part thanks to JohannesVIII's comic adaptation) and the upcoming Terror Firma is an old favourite. One of Joe Lidster's horror stories and the final chapter in an informal trilogy of stories Big Finish did with Davros way back when (in the form of Davros, The Juggernauts and Terror Firma). This is the wrong thread but I'll take it up separately with you in the relevant one. what who comics do you read ? since i'm seeing a lot of references . i've only checked out the Titan so far Short answer is predominantly stuff by Doctor Who Magazine (Panini sell collected volumes of them nowadays). Long answer, well... I know there are people who really enjoy the Titan comics and there are good stories come out of some of the ranges, but it just doesn't click for me. It's like TV Comic, which was published during the 60s. They're interesting, but I don't really see the Second Doctor shouting "Die, hideous creature! Die!" and shooting down a mutant spider on reflex. It doesn't quite fit. The Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Doctor all had very successful and enjoyable runs in DWM, you can't really go wrong there. The Seventh Doctor stories are a bit more inconsistent. Stories like Emperor of the Daleks, Stairway to Heaven and The Mark of Mandragora do very well, but there are also some real clunkers. The Eighth Doctor range was certainly a return to form. It starts in Stockbridge with Endgame and got me interested in his incarnation for the first time. Everything done with him was genuinely marvellous, almost like watching a TV continuation. Can't really speak to the Ninth or Tenth Doctors too much (I've only read a few stories here and there), but I've heard good things. The DWM Eleventh Doctor stories were brilliant, I actually prefer them to what was being done on television at the time. The first half was written by Jonathan Morris who turns up as a frequent BF writer, the latter half was by Scott Gray who also did the Eighth Doctor stories. I'd definitely recommend them. They managed to win me over very quickly and I believe that the Eighth Doctor stories were also a contributing inspiration for the New Series.

I have some of the DWM strips , have read 9 and 10- a few atleast and liked them. i’m now interested with the eighth doctor. while i liked the titan series for 9,10 and 11, didn’t like the eighth doctor stories. as you say i’ll check out DWM now

I love reading comics, but unfortunately where I live, access to physical comics is nil. So I primarily have to rely on digital versions. Some issues of DWM i got through a friend, but I missing a majority of them. I tried to check out digital subscriptions which are available only for the current releases

I'm very much reliant on my local library for most of what I encounter. Since you've expressed an interest, I really recommend getting them through something like Book Depository. The three parts of the Eighth Doctor's run can be found here, here and here.
