I interpreted Aussie’s post as that there’s been a hell of a lot of promotion in the Disney+ territories and people are noticing. Nothing about the contents of the show. The investment on marketing the show on their side will hopefully transform into viewers, which is what a lot is “riding on”. 100% but it can't be argued that the angry Youtube end of fandom, the laugh or angry emoji mob haven't co-opted "Disney Who". Almost all references to imply it's being almost ghost-written, controlled by them. It's the new "gay agenda" or "wokeness, SJW" rhetoric. Because these same people have infiltrated Star Wars and Marvel with Disney, it's been much easier to sell Who as being connected to an interfering, clumsy, bullying conglomerate. With no small amount of anti-American sentiment underpinning it from some. Again - not saying it about Aussie or Banks - but we've alll seen the people I'm talking about...a LOT of them.

So, Russell T Davies cast Neil Patrick Harris in "It's A Sin", then in "The Giggle".
The first story after "The Giggle" features goblins. Smurfs are essentially goblins, of a kind, and Neil Patrick Harris was in the movie version of "The Smurfs"
Second story after "The Giggle" has the Maestro, who has essentially the opposite powers to Neil Patrick Harris's Batman villain the Music Meister.
Coming up, Lenny Rush is to play UNIT's (presumably teenage) scientific advisor. So, that's the equivalent to Neil Patrick Harris's Doogie Howser.
Is the entire of new nuWho to be based around parodying the career of Neil Patrick Harris? Will Ruby be seduced and then abandoned in a humiliating manner? Will the Doctor encounter a pair of stoners? IS RUSSELL T DAVIES OBSESSED WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS?!!

Incidentally, can I take this opportunity to recommend Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy stories? They're detective novels set in an alternate universe where the Plantagenets still rule England (and the rest of Britain, most of Europe, and a big chunk of America) in the 1960s, the Reformation has never happened, and the Church has developed the scientific laws that underpin magic. The reason I bring it up is that Lord Darcy's forensic investigator Sean can only use magic to do certain things - he can knit back together a torn garment using magic, but not find out from it who was wearing it. There's a genuine balance between the inclusion of magic in the world, and the need to tell stories with genuine plots where one can't just have a davies ex machina solve everything for you. I've long thought that a series of DW with magic brought into it in this manner would be an interesting diversion, rather than the "the power of love saved the day" kind of thing we're actually getting.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I hope it’s one of those rare stories where everyone lives by the end of it, possibly with a saccharine message bout how special Christmas/Ruby/Mel/the Doctor is because they are special.

That's quite a scope for one of the smaller UK TV Guides Regards mark687 Notably the interviewer is Tom Spilsbury, former editor of DWM, so that likely helped.

Not sure if this is new or not but on BBC iPlayer under Season 1 is The Church on Ruby Road. Not sure if this is the same for Disney but it would make more sense.

"Dead Ringers" yesterday had a sketch where the Daleks refuse to fight the Doctor because he's gay and black and then they'll be cancelled by the Woke mob and have to go on Laurence Fox's podcast. They're only prepared to exterminate if nobody ever finds out {Spoiler} and the Doctor points out that with the ratings the way they are, nobody will

Sounds like Sethu will be playing a different character when she returns to the series.

I must admit I'm not helping the ratings but are they really that bad?

yes they are bad but it's more about Audience Share than just viewing figures. & I wonder how many people listen to Dead Ringers? I didn't even know it was still going!

Time to catch up then.
