The Eps to Revisit are: Spearhead Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways A Good Man Goes to War The Bells of St John The Church on Ruby Road 3 of these give flavours of what to expect, the other 2 "Might" contain Plot Points Regards mark687 So this great new era of the show, Season 1, relies on old stories for plot points. More lies then from RTD. How is that any different from Chibnall dredging back up the old Mobius Doctors discourse to use as a plot point?

Chibnall's era wasn't season 1. It wasn't claimed to be a reboot for new fans who could jump on without prior knowledge. He didn't appear in a magazine article stating specific episodes that viewers had to watch. The Timeless Child arc works perfectly without knowledge of the Morbius doctors moment from an old episode. I know you'll disagree because you hate Chibnall 👍

I just find you ragging on RTD all the time without being able to consider any criticism about Chib's era to be hypocritical. Specifically when RTD hasn't done anything that you can't claim Moffat or Chibnall of being guilty of as well.

I’m not sure the list of recommended stories is anything other than thematics. Spearhead from Space is *the* UNIT story. Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways is the first big finale and pretty much balances everything we’d come to expect from RTD’s Who. The Bells of St John involves a technology company in the centre of London, a la S Triad Tech. A Good Man Goes to War covers the reveal of River’s parents, a la Ruby’s mother. And The Church of Ruby Road is where all of these ongoing threads with Ruby began.

I don't think its hypocritical, especially when in a thread about Season 1 & 2 of RTDs era & especially as, in this case, I have given my valid reasons of why I think what RTD done has been different. So I can claim that RTD has done things that Moffat & Chibnall are not guilty of. Neither of them presented their tenure as a bold new start for the show whilst at the same time naming certain old episodes fans should watch in order to fully understand the finale.

It seems a silly thing for RTD to do given the way he has presented this era. Is Spearhead even available easily to watch outside the UK?

I’m not sure any of the non-Disney+ invested episodes are, but this was published in Radio Times, so I wouldn’t think too much into it; just a fun feature.

So Mrs Flood will be back for the finale. Weird she hasn't made an appearance at all in season 1, as far as I can remember.

I mean, know it won't be confirmed as true.
I know RTD is not that cool or forward thinking. She'll probably be something lame like Susan in disguise or the Master or the One Who Waits, even though none of those answers makes sense with what we know about her, but whatever... let me have my silly little dream while I still can.

Pyramids of Mars. The homage to it in The Devil's Chord was getting us ready for Sutekh. I'm right. I know it.

You know it’s kinda interesting that there is all this focus on Ruby finding her mother but there was no reference to Ruby’s father at all in the series 🤔 hmmm I wonder why
