Excited by this, especially for lesser-known characters like Morbius. Not as convinced by characters like Missy - is this simply going to be Missy vol 4B by another name - or will it be significantly different in some way from the other Missy releases? I imagine the Missy release will still be worth getting though, but I'd like more info on what it brings to the table that is different from the other Missy releases

BF Tweeted that this series is the next scheduled appearance for the TV Movie Master Regards mark687 Not much of a spoiler, that’s mentioned in the announcement news piece. Presumably one of next year’s trilogies.

BF Tweeted that this series is the next scheduled appearance for the TV Movie Master Regards mark687 With the Master! range possibly coming to an end, together with the War Doctor (and maybe others like Missy and River Song), perhaps this is how the characters will continue? No longer in their own individual series, but in epics such as Dark Gallifrey? It certainly seems a way of them continuing outside their own ranges, which are possibly the subject of diminishing returns? Pure speculation of course.

I mean, would it be so bad to redirect efforts and resources from ranges that exist for the sake of having a range with that character's face and name in bold letters to more self-contained stories starring whichever whoniverse character the writer/producer feels suits it best? I'd say the only ranges that are justifiable in themselves are the Doctor Who ones because people will always want stories with each Doctor and they're all still Doctor Who stories, which is supposed to be the main attraction.

Random thought, but could we see the return of Ohila, played by Veronica Robert’s, or perhaps even Clare Higgins?
Also, who are the remaining four? The Monk and the Nun seem to be confirmed by the trailer, so perhaps one/multiples of the Collective? Omega? Timothy Dalton’s Rassilon?

The last we heard from the Monk and the Nun, at the end of Missy and the Monk, they were working together, so I wonder if that is how they will appear in this series…

Maybe we’ll get a massive surprise and Tecteun turns up.

'I deny this reality.' It's canon. UNDENIABLE. The self-appointed god of Dr Who RTD has, much to the chagrin of some fans, anointed it so.

Say what you will about what RTD does and doesn’t acknowledge; he’s done an amazing job lately of, in his words, “relaxing” the canon.
In a short space of time he’s normalised alternate timelines, rewritten Davros’ medical history, implied there are 13+ bigenerated past Doctors out there on new adventures, AND offered an easy out ("I made a jigsaw out of your history") for anyone who wants to ignore past creative choices.
It’s certainly made me feel more at ease when, say, a perfectly lovely reunion with Mel, Steven or Peri contradicts what this Big Finish listener knows really happened in the intervening time. It feels less like overwriting and more a gentle alternative suggestion. All stories are true and everything is canon.

People don't have to like it but suggesting it might not be canon is silly.

Its not about wanting to believe. It is canon. For example. I don't like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or Dial of Destiny. But I wouldn't suggest they are not canon. I just don't like them.

As already mentioned, its not about wanting to believe anything. If you want to believe that its not canon nothing is stopping you I guess. Even though you are incorrect.
