Blimey, wasn’t expecting Morbius to make a return. I would have thought the Eleven would have fit that role.
Not exactly the Suicide Squad I thought they were going for either.

It’s certainly far more ambitious than we could’ve guessed when the listings for Dark Gallifrey first started to surface! Seems a nice hybrid of the various Big Finish release methods; the monthly ranges, the trilogy boxsets and the epic sagas. The full bundle offers a nice saving too; essentially one of the trilogies for free.
Intrigued for more details, but it’s a great opening four choices. Morbius is underserved and would only really ever surface in a range like this. Jacobi is always a delight. Roberts needs his own chance of dominating outside of his range. And with Gomez I’m hoping it’s an opportunity to take her away from her range and put into something more focused.
Fingers crossed for Beevers to finally get his own run! I’m sure Eleven and Armitage’s Rassilon are shoe-ins too.

Not exactly the Suicide Squad I thought they were going for either. I’m wondering if that was the original intention and over the years it’s developed into Dark Gallifrey? The Suicide Squad-esque series was very much part of the Time War strand 5 years ago when there were quite a few other spin-offs with the same setting.

Such an odd choice to include three characters that already have their own ranges when it could've been a great chance to explore lesser used characters... ah well think I'm just a bit disappointed because I let my mind run wild about what the title could mean ever since it leaked haha

In theory I like the idea of this, but I think I'm going to need to know a little more before I pre-order the first two sets...

From their page: "The complete Dark Gallifrey pre-order (for all eight trilogies) is just £210 (on collector’s edition CD + download) or £188 (download only)." -- a big investment. £23.5 per trilogy.
Current download price in $ is $236.92. About $30 per trilogy. Smaller bundles are $63 for first 2, $121 for first 4.
I'll probably jump in, but I'll think about it more.

Well that is a big deal, though rather vague as to what it’s about. Morbius as an opener is intriguing.

Very Odd 3 Characters with their own Series already, a character no ones touched for 18 years and 2 BF Originals so far (couldn't make out if it was a new Number ) But raises the question "How many times can the "Villains" Win before you wonder Why do they Loose"? Waiting for more info and hoping I can cherry pick Trilogies without loosing vital bits of any Arcs. Regards mark687

Sad that it’s not the popular theory of being a Gallifrey ‘dark age’ set post-Time War. As it is, with three of the announced characters already having their own ranges, it feels slightly underwhelming. Looking forward to the inevitable Drax and Anzor volumes.

I’ve realised my own intrigue is less to do with the announcement / series itself, but more due to perceived shortcomings of existing ranges and wanting those characters to shine outside of them. The War Master range is excellent, albeit formulaic. And the Gomez & Roberts ranges have issues with how they present their leads. Will be interesting to get more details and a better indication of how the range pans out. Eight trilogies, but presumably there has to be some sort of wrap up, and yet a final trilogy doesn’t seem adequate for 21 preceding episodes and seven leads.

Is that Rufus Hound as the Monk as the fourth character in the video? I'm assuming the third is Morbius? mef

Oh so they're maybe counted as 4 separate Arcs over 2 Trilogies each, even more awkward for the decision process. Regards mark687

I too was expecting something more Gallifrey focused, with that title. I like that Morbius is getting a spot. Don't quite get why you need three trilogies covering the Master in three incarnations that already have a range. They could have done something interesting using one trilogy for all three. Well, let's hope it does have a more direct link to Gallifrey than it looks at first sight and that makes it distinct enough from those ranges.

A sprawling multi-story epic from BF? What a surprise. & this goes on until 2027! I'll wait until the reviews come in.

With eight trilogies, and four we know now, who will be in the remaining four?
More Masters, Rassilon, the Eleven, etc.? In fact there are so many renegade time lords it's a question of who to leave out. Especially since I'd guess the final trilogy will be a blockbuster all-hands-on-deck meet up, don't you think? Personally I'd prefer less well-used characters, but BF know who sells in their own ranges so these Masters/Missy were inevitable - and they will inevitably be excellent.
(I don't think of the Monk as 'dark', not really. An annoying, greedy, timeline-wrecking pain in the vortex for sure but not evil.)
