Missy's return was more of a selling point to me than the Daleks' return though. Well, that's their fault. Good riddance to them. Doctor Who has always been a silly show and that's why I love it.
I don't know what kind of people you are referring to because I have never seen anyone make fun of it. Most people I know both online and offline think Moffat has done good for the show and helped to make it a big international hit. Second of all, it might well be their fault, but considering Doctor Who's faultering ratings, no matter how much you mightn't like it, Doctor Who HAS to change. It will change - Chris Chibnall's era in two years - but regardless of that, in my view anyone who doesn't like the show as of current can **** off and let us fans watch in peace. Also: ratings are down everywhere, not just Doctor Who so it hasn't really lost any viewers. The way people watch it has simply changed. And I know a lot of people who don't and enjoy watching it. Where's the facts to support that suggestion? Answer: there aren't any.

I haven't. JK Rowling's dialogue has a certain charm to it that many authors don't have. What charm? There's none to it. There's a certain reason that works such as 1984, Of Mice And Men and, heck, even The Woman In Black are studied today. Wrongly studied today. Of Mice And Men is a great book but capable of captivating secondary school students it is not. Instead of focusing on classic literature, they should be getting them to read modern books in my view by the likes of JK Rowling, Alex Scarrow and Neil Gaiman.

Where's the facts to support that suggestion? Answer: there aren't any. So, on your first point, Doctor Who was once Top 5 in the ratings department. Also, the show has to change to apply not just for the fans. If we want something just for the fans, Big Finish should be your first port of call because it's made for them. However, BF seem to make the seem far more viewer-friendly than the actual series. As for your second point, I know about 5/1000 people from this school who don't mock it. Finally, there are no points to support your argument. But if you want to see one thing, you can go to Batmanmarch's and Billy Garrett John's YouTube and they are just two people.

I looked up lines from Harry Potter and what I found was even worse than what is in Jesse Pope's poems. And fair enough for Gaiman, he's an incredible writer. But Alex Scarrow... Are you having a laugh? The author of Time Riders gets his unmemorable series studied in school. Anyway, they're kind of... How do I put it this... kids books.

Heaven forbid kids read kids book. Well, what I mean is that they aren't exactly works of art. In fact, they're a bit rubbish.

I for one would have rather read Rowling, Gaiman, and Moore alongside To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, and The Catcher in the Rye rather than having to read what I consider boring drivel like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and The Grapes of Wrath. There's a huge argument for high school freshmen, at least in the U.S, to read The Dark Knight Returns or Watchmen or Sandman because of the themes in them. But aside from a literary debate, what do I want in Series 10? Bill to not get hated out of the show like Martha was A series of fun adventures through space and time with two good friends Bill as a neurotic mess and the Doctor as a sort of therapist (see my interpretation in the New companion reveal thread) Big Finish UNIT team to make an appearance A poop your pants, can't sleep that night scary story Mostly 2 parters again Cybermen to be written right Daleks to be let go for a while Ashildr makes an appearance because there is an interesting character in there

I'd call them unentertaining but not boring.

Or I could turn on the news and if there was a story about North Korea, there was 1984 almost word for word. A third of the book is the ravings of a lunatic. The 'romance' between Julia and Winston was one of the dullest, heartless, and crammed in things I've ever had the displeasure of reading. And I've read books like The Hunger Games and Twilight. Note that wasn't a compliment. The Grapes of Wrath is overlong, I barely remember anything about it other than Jane Darwell as Ma Joad in the movie, and the ending made me sick to my stomach. I can recognize they're classics for reason, but for every person that loved Gatsby, there's someone who hated it.

If it makes you feel better, The Catcher in the Rye and The Great Gatsby are two of my favorite books. I'm not a caveman. I just like stories that make me feel something of substance, like there's still light, rather than nihilism. Never read Cannery Row.

I never knew anyone else who watched Doctor Who before the Moffat era. It wasn't until Moffat took over that I started seeing people Doctor Who t-shirts, stores selling Doctor Who merchandise, and people knowing what I'm talking about when I talk about Doctor Who. The show was always good, but Moffat really put it on the map.

RTD furthered that and the next showrunner was of course gonna want to make his mark on the series and make it big abroad. It was only ever inevitable. And, really, Doctor Who has never been mocked before and has always been on the map, at least in the UK. Maybe not in America, but here, in the UK, where the show is meant to be doing its best, it's failing.
