I always think these ratings are counter productive anyway especially in this day of online shopping and streaming. The violence may be strong in DD but I think kids now who play First Person Shooters and idolise The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones have a higher tolerance than the film classifiers. I'd have gone nuts for Daredevil when I was 13. Anyone in the UK who grew up as a teen in the VHS era trawling video shops will remember you'd look out for that lovely 18 logo as a guarantee of some gore, nudity, swearing...whatever your thing was. No-one was looking at it as a warning you were too young for it- it was a promise there'd be something good within the box. Especially after the Video Nasties started very slowly coming back into circulation (usually cut to shreds) it was always exciting finding them on shelves. It says a lot that films that the prudes deemed completely unacceptable in the early 80s not only come out now, but often uncut with a mere 15 rating. Changing sensibilities indeed. ; Personally I find this attitude wrong. People should respect age ratings. They are there for a reason. If DareDevil Season 2 came out when I was 15 I would not watch it because it is an 18. 18 means it is only suitable for 18 year olds and over. Elkawho can do what she wants as a parent. I'm not criticising her (I can't, I'm not a parent), just the idea that age ratings are pointless because kids wrongly play Call of Duty. How old were you back in April/Christmas 2005 DB?

Not only, as we knew, are ABC doing a New Warriors show...but Squirrel Girl will star in it! I must admit, I thought she'd get a movie before a show but hey. She's become very popular over the past few years. I think in 2015 two of Marvel's biggest sellers were her book and Spider-Gwen. Crazy, but wonderful, times. I guess this New Warriors is a comedy show then otherwise who is going to take it seriously? About the same amount of light hearted comedy in most Marvel films or cranked-up to talking raccoon level of comedy?

I bought the RTD era box set instead of each series separately. I'm a firm believer that good things come to those who wait.

I think more out-and-out comedy. So a more Guardians level you think? I don't consider Guardians to be a parody. To me Squirrel Girl as a lead suggests more like a superhero version of Simon Pegg's Spaced, or The Tick.

Considering any other superhero based around an animal, insect or creature, what makes you think Squirrel Girl is a parody?

Considering any other superhero based around an animal, insect or creature, what makes you think Squirrel Girl is a parody? Her powers are ridiculous. She communicates with squirrels to send them to attack her enemies, and her teeth can chew through wood - how could that be portrayed as anything other than a comedy superhero? It's just too outlandish. The difference with Rocket Racoon is that he doesn't have daft powers, he has a big space gun.

Why would a nine year old be checking the age ratings on DVD's? A 14 year old maybe, but most nime year olds just assume DVD's are things mum and dad get them. Some they are allowed, others they aren't.

No, just Squirrel Girl because the concept is daft and will look very silly on-screen.

Nope because squirrels attacking Thanos on-screen would look a hell of a lot sillier.

Rocket Racoon works because he doesn't have powers that look silly on-screen, he has a big space gun. Same with Groot, Groot just has strength from being a tree.

Saying, as you did above, that she couldn't go against Thanos...well, she's already went up against Galactus, Kraven The Hunter and Doctor Doom so don't be too confident about talking with authority about things you don't know. The beaut of the character is she's had those stories, but they're lighthearted. She's also had adventures with Howard The Duck - she's that kind of character, like Deadpool, who can jump in and out of genres and yet be herself. Like Deadpool, you can have comedy with her...but still have tension. People laughed with and not at Wade Wilson, they'll do the same with Dorene Greene.

In the three years to you reaching twelve, knowing the series 1 and 2 DVD release dates and their certifications, did you at any point watching DW Series 1, 2 and 3 think "Should I be watching this?"

Same with Groot, Groot just has strength from being a tree. Like the Racoon, the squirrels don't have powers either. With this in mind, it would fine to you if Squirrel Girl instructed the squirrels to hold space guns?
