John Wick 3, finally a movie that delivers the goods, epic R rated action, good cast (Halle Berry take a bow) & Keanu Reeves being awesome, the knife fight in act one worth price of admission.
4.5/5.

Detective Pikachu. Eh, it was fine. Ryan Reynolds deserves more credit. Really obvious twist villain. There actually is a twist I did not see coming but overall, it was just a fine turn your brain off and watch for an hour and 40 minutes. The scenes in the forest before Mewtwo shows up might have been the most Pokémon part of the movie but the third act dragged the movie down.

The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad (1958)
Continuing the 'arabian nights' theme with another classic. Smaller scale and less fantastical than 'The Thief of Bagdad' in terms of sets, locations etc. and with a very different style, this is a classic 50s monster-action movie set in the 'arabian nights' world instead of the 'alien invaders' world of most such movies at that time.
Great action 'scimitars and sorcery' quest story and the stop-motion animated monsters and the filming which links them to the live action are outstanding examples of the technique. Sinbad is a Prince and a clear hero rather than the piratical sailor of the stories and, now we're in the 1950s, I'm pleased to say the Princess in this one is brave and takes part in the quest (like a proper Companion always should!)

crimes of grindlewald........
had avoided watch cause had heard bad reports, but am happy to say i thought it was ok, much better than the first one......
john depp gives the kind of performance i thought he had forgotten how to do, and it full of the dark complicated story that J K Rowing does best.
it feels like part one of a four act story.......with the previous story being a prologue
sure direction is a bit muddled and not the best idea to have four story-lines running at once.
certainly glad i watched at home rather than big screen, as was easier to follow and the subtitles helped enormously why does Eddie Redmayne mumble so and give the weakest performance of anyone.
but on the whole a solid film but not perfect 8/10

I really could not get into the first and actually quite liked this one.

John Wick 3, which I'm convinced now are stealth Matrix sequels.
They take place in somewhere that's more like a video game than the real world. Every speaking character is an assassin (who have somewhat superhuman abilities) or working for them, while the "NPCs" ignore the death and destruction happening right in front of them. All three films take place over about a week during whick Wick is beaten up, stabbed and shot repeatedly and just shakes it off.

Backtrace, come on Sly your better than this. He doesn't fit it does he.
The film itself is passable for its type and the rest of the Cast its got. so its a bit like Heat, except in Heat that kind of off-centre performance worked for him in that case.

He's always been one of my idols, seeing him feature in this & those awful Escape Plan DTV sequels so disheartening. Not sold on Rambo: Last Blood either, he wrapped up Rambos arc perfectly with fourth film i think this might me one sequel to many.

Half Past Dead Probably one of the last enjoyable Seagal films, mainly because of the cast around him
Guardians of the Galaxy Still absolute fun. Although after Infinity War, you gotta think about whats happened to the characters on Nova
The Incredible Hulk Norton made a good Banner/Hulk. Shame he and the studio got into issues. would have been interesting to see his take in Avengers Assemble. They may have gone for the Hulk being the Bad Guy story
Justice League Enjoyable. But in really want to see the Snyder Cut now
Blockers Funny as hell. Cena rules at comedy
Godzilla (2014) A great film, although Cranston should have been in it for a whole lot longer
The Monster Squad Hadnt seen this in years and forgot how short it is
Galaxy Quest By Grabthar's Hammer...........what a savings
Naked Space (The Creature wasnt Nice) Absolute Crap. You have Leslie Nielsen and Patrick Macnee in a film and yet its this pile of rubbish?
The Runestone Found a better copy on Youtube. Great Monster film

"Hells". An Anime film by Mad House. Me and my friends watched it, partly because it looked interesting; cool art style and wacky tone, but it was also the first official Dub done by Team Four Star.
Anyways, we all agreed it was a pretty bad film, with a manic plot that read like the bullet points of a 25 episode length series. The beginning had no room to breath, the middle was actually quite good, then the third act dragged well on past the point of diminishing returns. Insane Pacing!
That said, there was still some fun to be had. As stated, it had very cool stylistic visuals. Team Four Star sure as hell can voice act; there's a lot of humorous dialogue and one-lines, with one character carrying the voice of LittleKuriboh's Solmon Moto being a particular delight. And the plot, as manic as it was, did have some crazy and creative ideas; if not engaging, it was at least sporadically fascinating.
So yeah, bad film, but I'm still glad I watched it.

It is exactly the type of storytelling I love.

Agreed. You don't always need super heroes, explosions and car chases. Sometimes you just need emotion.
