Arrow Season 7 finale, a average effort but for me seasons 1-3 were the best.
Think I'm just bored & burned out with comic book films & tv shows.

Swamp Thing starts next week Hope it doesn't thread water or get stuck in limbo ( groan). I'm really quite cautious about this one. Saga of the Swamp Thing is one of my favourite bits of literature, but I've never seen one of the DC Comics series before outside of a glimpse here and there. Hope they do justice to the champion of the Green. Looks like a blend of the Len Wein run and Alan Moore run, so it should get pretty interesting once things are seriously underway...

What We Do in the Shadows/season finale. Man I did not see that twist with Guillermo coming. It is perfect. And the sight gag with the latest Gregor is one of the best I've seen in a long, long time. Bring on year 2.

Hello again. I have been working my way through all 68 episodes of the 1973-79 classic The Tomorrow People. Fascinating. Some truly original concepts for the time. A wild mix of stories. Some really good thrillers, Secret Weapon, The Doomsday Men, Revenge of Jedikiah, The Blue and the Green and A Dirty Business. Some truly awful space opera, Thargon Menace and War of Empires and one absolute pantomime that makes Time and the Rani look good. The mind-blowing, ridiculous confection, that started and nearly ended a certain Mr P. Davison's tv career: A Man for Emily! Really enjoyed my trip into 70's hair and fashion, the Nestene's relatives in The Living Skins, the anti-establishment writing of Roger Price, yellow CSO, and the poor actors who had little budget but took it all reasonably seriously. P.S Into the Unknown despite Geoffrey Bayldon, is a really dull set of four episodes. Interesting science did not in this case, make good television. P.P.S Check out the truly disturbing title sequence and great Dudley Simpson theme. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei7i7RFvrUM

Young Sheldon Season 2 Episode 22 Such a bittersweet ending to the season, although i did love how they linked it in to the Big Bang Finale

Good Omens
A very straight adaptation of the book - and that's no bad thing. You'll be hard pushed to see an actor in it who hasn't been in either Doctor WHo or Game Of Thrones - there are big UK names in even tiny roles and I won't spoil them as some were a real fun treat. Tennant basically just plays Crowley as The Doctor which is fine but Michael Sheen is the real heart of it. A lovely performance. Phil Collinson produced it - nice to see him getting such a big gig. Minor quibble - it seems the film was sponsored by Bohemian Rhapsody as every 10 mins there's a Queen song, some a bit ill-fitting. Almost feels like the temp track for music was used. Yeah, it's from the novel...but what works on page doesn't always translate. Here because those songs are used in so many films, it adds a level of cliche to proceedings that's not the intent.

I've been cherry picking episodes of Deep Space Nine and once again sitting in awe as to how very good, and ahead of its time, the show was.

Hello again.
The reason for the preponderance of Queen songs, DavyGallagher, is apparently that any cassette that stays in Aziraphale's lovely old car after two weeks, automatically mutates into The Best of Queen compilation!!
My daughter and I are also looking forwards to its eventual appearance on BBC2. I read the book in the Nineties and really enjoyed it.

Hello again.
Years and Years Episode 3: Chilling, chaotic, funny and quite simply RTD at his best. Oh and Emma Thompson is having an absolute ball as Vivian Rook.

I loved the use of Queen in the soundtrack, given how much of the novel is a running gag about how every cassette (it was first published in 1990) in a car magically transforms into “The Best Of Queen.” I think it was one of the best adaptations to the screen of Pratchett (I know the novel was co-written by Gaiman’s) and I, too, loved how much made it from the page to the stage. My only gripe was that “The Four Other Horseman” never made it but there was so much else from the novel that I wasn’t too fussed. Agree with you about Tennant and his performance, too.

Just finished Good Omens last night😇😈It’s a flawed but brilliant adaptation of the novel! It was very faithful to the novel and I appreciated that they kept the running gag about the Queen music it just wouldn’t feel like Good Omens without Queen 🎸😀 I have very few criticisms other than even though I am glad they included the narration and footnotes from the book I kind of hated that they had an American narrator😕It just feels wrong for such a uniquely British story. I would have preferred if it was someone like Emma Thompson, Judy Dench, or even Stephen Fry! On a more positive note, David Tennant and Michael Sheen are just too cute together I can’t stand it!🥰

30-day free trial. Our eldest got one just to watch this and logged us into their account. I would’ve happily waited for the DVD or free to air transmission but couldn’t resist.
