Big Finish would still have to talk about the Vervoids in news announcements and the like and think of the potential social media response. I don't think the BBC would ever approve, regardless, they weren't even allowed on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine. For the record, until it was pointed out to me, I never really thought of them as anything other then a Doctor Who monster Kandyman was the subject of legal complications, yet was just in Ravenous. Being in an audio medium would help the case for the Vervoids, as long as they can hold a strong presence on audio. Just imagine the Skype meeting And that's as plain as I'm going to get, folks.

The vervoids appeared in Dimensions in Time and the BBC didn't explode.

I thought the legal problem with the Kandyman was the tv version's physical resemblance to Bertie Bassett. Since bf are reverting to the original conception of the character, which looks very different, I don't imagine this is a problem anymore.

The vervoids appeared in Dimensions in Time and the BBC didn't explode. Haven't seen Dimensions in Time due to it's lack of availability, but isn't one of the points of contention that the BBC didn't exactly go all-out with The Doctor's rogue gallery and just roped in random monsters? It was a different time and a very different era, with Who very much being in the public eye nowdays. More recently, back in 2009, the Vervoids weren't allowed on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine.

If you really want to see it, dig around on YouTube. By the looks of it the BBC just used whatever costumes were still available for it, it's a bizarre mix.

How about "The Myrka" or however it's spelled - the pathetically slow lumbering thing from that 5th doctor story (I want to say "warriors of the deep"). Come to think of it...Sea Devils as well? Though it's probably best if they remain unused. They were a tad too silly. And besides, you can defeat The Myrka simply by walking away from it. Already done
Myrka in Bloodtide
Sea Devils in Bernice Summerfield The Poison Seas and UNIT Assembled

There was a Myrka in Bloodtide? Hmmpf. I suppose it's been a while.

The Bandrils seem to come up all the time in EU as a joke but never appear, if they do it should be like in Timelash where they are second fiddle to some kind of superior threat. Do you mean like the Vardans in Invasion of Time, victims of the intellectual might of the Sontarans? Point taken.

Could be a strain of Vervoid that looks less suggestive. Big Finish would still have to talk about the Vervoids in news announcements and the like and think of the potential social media response. I don't think the BBC would ever approve, regardless, they weren't even allowed on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine. For the record, until it was pointed out to me, I never really thought of them as anything other then a Doctor Who monster I definitely remember the Vervoids being on the front cover of DWM.

On The Terror of the Vervoids DVD documentary, then current editor Clay Hickman talks about he couldn't get approval and was surprised.

Anyway, I don't think we can talk any plainer about the Vervoids then we already have. So, back to the topic on hand.
