Big Finish would still have to talk about the Vervoids in news announcements and the like and think of the potential social media response. I don't think the BBC would ever approve, regardless, they weren't even allowed on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine. For the record, until it was pointed out to me, I never really thought of them as anything other then a Doctor Who monster They WERE on the cover of DWm. Indeed they were. I could never understand why that issue of DWM was on the top shelf in the shop.

Could be a strain of Vervoid that looks less suggestive. Big Finish would still have to talk about the Vervoids in news announcements and the like and think of the potential social media response. Sea Devils in a main range Doctor Who would be awesome. Love a Grendal return from Androids Of Tara. How about the Taran Wood Beast? Can't believe it hasn't happened yet. Let's not forget that November 25th this year is the 40th anniversary of Androids of Tara's first episode and, well, you know how Big Finish love an anniversary!

I definitely remember the Vervoids being on the front cover of DWM. On The Terror of the Vervoids DVD documentary, then current editor Clay Hickman talks about he couldn't get approval and was surprised. Funnily enough, I'm watching Trial for research at the moment and have reached Vervoids. So I bunged that documentary on to check. He says no such thing. You're misremembering.

Actually, just rewatched it now and it was Doctor Who Weekly, not Monthly. So....this is odd. Maybe watch the whole thing? Going to be blunt: kind of want stop talking about penis monsters. A lot of people seem to want to keep the conversation going about penis monsters and it's weird. Even for me, it's weird. So, let's agree, no more discussion of penis monsters? Can't be more blunt then that. Guess they decided different for DWM later, but I still think given the reputation in fandom of the Vervoids, Big Finish ain't going to use them. So no more penis monsters. Weird. Made signs and motions on this guys. No more penis talk.

Erato looks highly suspect, but no fuss there. You're the one perpetuating the Vervoid talk.

The Vervoids could be the surprise monster halfway through, no need to appear in press releases or on the cover. The Nimon were a complete surprise when they appeared. Castle of Fear pulls the trick of revealing an old foe at the midway point.

It is always a good thing to have a monster you can visualise withexisting pictures you can put on the cover.
So personally I think the Vervoids should (censored) again

Clay tells a story about the Vervoids being on the cover of DWm and WH Smiths not liking it. Nothing about them not being allowed by the BBC to use them on the cover. Oh and BTW... penises aren't what people normally say they look like... Quite the opposite in fact. Certainly it was the other thing WH Smith were saying... I've heard the story in person many times.

They're a bit Schrodinger's Genitalia. Managing to look like both at the same time.

With its Lovecroftian influences the Fendahl would be interesting in the Time War. The Time Lords are desperate enough to unlock Planet 5 and the Doctor and Bliss land there.

I think we'll probably see The Fendahl elsewhere before we see it used in a Time War story, even out of chronological order. A Fourth Doctor sequel kind of feels inevitable, but agasint a less unflappable Doctor would also be intresting as well.

Yeah, I’m not sure BF should do a story that similiar to one already published. Although it would lend support to my “the Second War in Heaven and the Time War are two branches of the same War” theory.

Yeah, I’m not sure BF should do a story that similiar to one already published. Although it would lend support to my “the Second War in Heaven and the Time War are two branches of the same War” theory. They're two distinct conflicts, both of which are space-time in nature with the Time Lords vs another temporal power. The fact the Eighth Doctor got caught up in both, and Gallifrey was off the map as a result of his radical last ditch that also sacrificed his memories (later Doctors up to Eleven blocked out the War Doctor) is coincidence as there aren't shared writers (Justin Richards, the editor on the books at the time, hasn't written any Time War period audios).
