Maybe a Halloween episode - as RadioTimes points out, this will be the closest episode to 31st October...?!

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Anita from Dinnerladies and Mr Big from Sex And The City together at last!
Whoever thought Chris Noth would be on Who? A decade on Law & Order, a decade of Sex And The City, nearly a decade on The Good Wife...just seems odd to have that filmography then rock up on Doctor Who.

Bit random for him to be in one set in present-day Sheffield.

Isn't there supposed to be an "Urban Legend" where he screen tested for the TV Movie having spent a month solid watching Classic Who on PBS as Prep only for the BBC to say the performance was "Too American"?

I've never heard it if there was! And I've never seen you mention him - I think you're telling porkies Mark. Attention seeking of the highest order!

As I said in the other thread, having a Sex Pistols pun in a Who TV title makes me very, very happy. We've had Bowie/Roeg in The Woman Who Fell To Earth now Rotten, Jones, Vicious et al. I hope we get some more pop culture pun titles. Also on spiders, does anyone else think one of the scariest films to ever be a PG is Arachnophobia with Jeff Daniels from 1990 or so? That film used to terrify me...and because there's no actual violence, just nature it's a PG. I'm also a bit scared to revisit it in case it doesn't hold up to my memories of being terrified.

One of the main locations for this episode was shot at my workplace (funnily enough in South Wales, not Sheffield...). So I’ve got some fun behind the scenes stuff to share after the episode airs 😉
Also I had to assist the crew as part of my day job (such a hard week in the office that one....)

Interesting you mention Arachnophobia, since when I heard about the rumours of this ep, my thought was ''Since the Eight-Legs are out, maybe they're doing a riff on Eight Legged Freaks?'' (Was it just me or did everyone feel like that movie was everywhere in the early 2000s? The DVDs clogged up bargain bins and charity shops.)
I can't help but suspect if Mr. Noth's got a vested interest in Sheffield's new 'infestation'...

And if memory serves, that was the hotel-looking place, which means Jodie's backpack is a giant canon of bug spray. Possibly a suped-up variety.

You could certainly be on to something there... Makes a lot more sense now what they are for as I think this may be a CGI heavy episode

Did Noth ever pop up on Law & Order UK when Chibnall was running it?

Love that movie and John Goodman is a riot in it. Jeff Daniels has had a most interesting career.
