After "Time Lord Victorious" and that cringe trailer, easy pass for me.

So just by reading a couple things online she is a well known UK comedian? Perhaps in certain circles. Not sure she can be considered a household name. And if it helps, I’ve certainly never heard of her before today.

So just by reading a couple things online she is a well known UK comedian? That would be an exaggeration. I know the name, but that's pretty much it . The only thing from Wikipdia I'm familiar with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooz_Kempneris the Dick Dixon pilot, which was.... well... also a thing.
EDIT: She turns up on "The Now Show", in its post-Holmes/Brigstocke/Benn/reasonforlistening incarnation
My thoughts: 1) Sounds better planned than TLV 2) Sounds less interesting than TLV 3) Sounds just like TLV (all right, maybe not, but this is the second multi-media whatsit featuring an assassin of the lesser order of Oberon. Hopefully this means Brian the Ood will return) 4) Sounds like we shouldn't expect the Doctor in it much, otherwise her twenty-four hour search for the Doctor will be over quite quickly 5) My computer froze when playing the trailer, so the sound didn't match the visuals. I got the impression that S.K. is probably more of a voice actor than a visual actor. 6) Might be a good idea if they told us a bit more

I can honest say that I've never heard of her either...
In theory, I am interested-enough in another multimedia 'event', but I am going to need to know a whole lot more before I consider pre-ordering the CDs (especially given that trailer).

I'm guessing from the trailer that this is going to be a light hearted journey through 60 years of Doctor Who in the company of Doom (at least I think that is what it means. Watching the trailer put me in mind of The Adventure Game and Knightmare for some reason...) and I'm mildly curious to know exactly what will be offered from the various licence holders, but the new pricing for a four hour boxset is just a bit too rich for my current budget right now.
Like series 3 of The Ninth Doctor Adventures I'm going to sit this one out.
Doesn't mean I can't wish them luck with it though!

Having just watched the video I am trying to decide if that is so bad it is good or just the former.
I was reasonably happy with the Big Finish releases for TLV, so I am not adverse to another multi-media event, but they will have to come up with something special to convince me to buy four hours of a twenty four hour adventure.
I wonder who will play “literal Death”!?

I’m not as excited for this as I’d hoped to be, unfortunately. The introductory video isn’t of a brilliant quality, doesn’t sell the character of Doom or the overall initiative. Ultimately this is what people will form their opinions and investment of the initiative on and it’ll be what the vast majority of fans will see; I hope the future instalments are better.
As for the upcoming material? There just isn’t enough information to go on. The emphasis on standalone stories doesn’t appeal massively without knowing what they’ll be. I think it’s asking a lot to be invested in what could amount to 24 different pieces (assuming each one accounts for an hour) for what must be a relatively woolly narrative if the finale is going to be a video released onto the social media channels. Without the Doctor being a presence you’re asking for even more investment into an original character that’s very likely on the peripheral of the Who universe.
I loved Time Lord Victorious. I think they should’ve emphasised what the main story was far more, and I’d have appreciated a touch more connective tissue, but it felt like a cohesive and satisfying experience to me. Doom’s Day seems to be grander in scope, but in doing so seems to give everything the vibe that it’s not important. And £30 for the Big Finish section alone is a lot without the luxury of a Doctor or a televised backstory.
I do hope further details change my mind, but for now I’m seeing a lot of risk with little to no reward. I didn’t get that vibe from Time Lord Victorious on its initial announcement.

On the face of it I am a bit underwhelmed, but I do hope this project is executed better than TLV... I will wait and see what materialises before committing myself either way though as we've only got basic info on Doom's Day at this moment in time.

I'm curious about this, but really it depends on involvement of the characters/doctors to really get me hooked.
I wonder if it's just a single boxset at big finish, or if there'll be a couple more like the short trips or the Vinyl and Genetics of the Daleks were for TLV.
Not sure about Doom though, just how she carried herself wasn't screaming "Master Assassin" but who knows? Let's see how it plays out.

Ironically her brother is slightly better known in these parts played Bushstode in 9DA Shades of Fear The Blooming Menace Scratch that I Know who she is! Safe to say its a bold move given recent BBC/ Gov Tensions I'll post a link to her Channel in the Youtube Thread! Regards mark687

I’ve always thought TLV’s scope was too wide and it’s setting wasted (and the fact that TLV ten never met Vampire Rose was criminal). This seems more like something with a narrower focus, which may be good, and more tightly plotted ideas. Which is very good. And … okay… that trailer exists. It… well… it’s a thing that happened. It’s … okay… my students could have done as well as if not better, to be frank.

For a story that focuses more on the DW Universe than The Doctor themselves, im intrigued by where this could go. so gonna give it a chance

Sooz Kempner is very active on Twitter, and has a mighty thick skin judging by her currently fending off the worst fandom has to throw at her. Guess which particularly infamous man makes an appearance -

In regards to the project, I have no interest currently and don’t expect much would convince me otherwise, but, and I know that this concept is hard for the man-children losing it over this, I don’t actually care. I wish it success and perhaps if a third event like this happens, I’ll be more interested.

I don't think any of us wish it ill it's just that as a LAUNCH that seemed impossibly cheap. Seriously - Pete McTighe does the bluray announcement trailers on no money and they're all wonderful, this is endorsed by RTD and is part of the 60th but looks like the kinda graphics from the Ainley cut scenes in the Who video game from 1997. And...sorry...the costume is BAD.
Of course it doesn't mean the comics, books, audios etc won't be terrific but you only get one shot at a first impression.

This is the worst announcement of a new Doctor Who thing I think I've ever seen. It was cheap, badly acted and woefully lacking in detail or content. It's like the emnbarrassing stuff your friends all say about Doctotr WHo but I thougth RTD was above this. All this hype for a green screen intro video like a task from The Apprendtice. Awful.

Honestly, the worst part of being a fan of Doctor Who is being associated with Ian Levine.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Sometimes we forget that for most actors, these are just jobs. They put as much as they can into them but they’re really something that they get paid for and put on their CV and move on from to the next gig. For the guy referenced in the tweet to kick up a stink about something with dodgy production values is a little… ahem… “distress”-ing.
