I expect the later than intended release of the Big Finish set has probably had an impact. I suspect the final hour will be released next week and the initiative brought to a close.

Most cavalier that incarnation's ever been with Timelines and again I think makes the entire narrative almost pointless. Regards mark687

Blimey, that was a disappointment. No weight of Doom’s preceding 22 hours, a rushed conclusion, a nonsensical twist with Terri and a bizarrely characterised First Doctor, who, it turns out, didn’t leave New Venice so Doom needn’t have bothered going through all that hassle! I wasn’t expecting a miracle conclusion, but to make the whole initiative practically redundant is utterly baffling.
Very odd project. Some good stories in their own right, and it’s nice to get a rare outsiders view of the Whoniverse, but it never really comes together. It was always going to be an uphill battle given it’s an original character with very minimal presence from the Doctor. Throw in those awful videos and slight DWM contribution and I think it was dead in the water for most, with very little scope for a comeback.
They learnt the right lessons from Time Lord Victorious. Everything came out in order, it was much more clear what was involved and the connective tissue was there. It’s just a shame the concept and execution wasn’t.

So, to be clear, if Doom had just stayed on New Venice in the first place, she'd have found Hartnell again, dealt with the "big"-bad and gone merrily on her way?
Meaning we needn't have sat through the comics, the book, the mobile game levels & six hours of audios?
As a whole, after the initial trailer, I enjoyed Doom's Day more than I thought I would, but, well, WHAT WAS THE BLUMMIN' POINT?!

Well, that was awful. It doesn’t help matters that they write the First Doctor in such a way that I can’t stand.
Hard to explain but mainly the Classic series Doctors (particularly the First and Second I find) spouting cultural references that just doesn’t fit their era. Admittedly it’s not as bad in this but stil.

In this case it's because (I should think) it makes the Doctor look like a silly old fool. Whereas in "The Eleventh Tiger" the Doctor quoting the song "Kung Fu Fighting" is quite amusing, becuase it's him teasing Ian not the other way around.

Well, I finally have ready/listened to/watched (rather than playing the mobile game) everything. What a mixed bag! The novel and audio plays were excellent, the audio book and Missy comic were solid, the short stories were meh, the mobile game was a baffling choice (limited event, really>), and the magazine comic was not good. The story was at it's strongest when the arc about Doom reconsidering her line of work was accentuated (particularly in big finish's contribution) and at it's weakest when it was just Doom meets X or Y character with paper-thin plot (especially the magazine comic).
Also, I really wish the first and last installments were minisodes (it's not like Doctor Who hasn't done a large number of minisodes in the past or anything) rather than short stories. They could have had David Bradley's excellent First Doctor alongside Sooz Kempner. It would have made her casting feel more consequential and started/ended the story with a more attention grabbing format.
