I've just given DWM itself a read, and yeah, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't disappointed that the finale's going to be another short-story...
Who do I need to slip a couple of pounds to for a book-reading of the pair of them?

The DWM stories are really, really slim. I’d hesitate to call them stories at all tbh, it’s just a series of scenes with barely a moment for breath. Monstrous Beauty at least had something of a plot that worked as it’s own thing, whereas this feels like pure filler.

The first issue of Titan’s effort came out today. I actually enjoyed it a lot. It feels connected to what we know about Doom and has throwbacks to her preceding hours. Her skirmishes with Missy never feel forced and help subtly build up the character’s stature. Looking forward to the next instalment.

It still looks as cheap as people who mock Who THINK it always does, for me. And I know the lady is a popular comic but in the (admittedly brief) vids of her in character, she doesn't convince me she has many acting chops and a good voice for audio. Oh well..just baffling this was put out by the new regime! Even Timelord Victorious LOOKED cool, with Tennant in Timelord Robes etc.

Yeah, the videos are bringing the whole venture down, really. Sooz isn’t very good, and makes selling the audios - which comprise a third of the whole venture - a very hard sell. Couple that with the initial video, it being an original character and a considerably reduced presence for the Doctor, it’s always going to be an uphill battle that feels it’s not trying hard to rectify! They shot themselves in the foot with the DWM contribution too; it’s likely the biggest market outside of the free stories for the project and what will encourage fans to pursue or abandon.
I personally enjoyed TLV a lot, but saw there was need for more connective tissue across the media, clarifying exactly what is the core of the initiative and a release schedule that’s in order. Doom’s Day has addressed those, but with a concept that’s less appealing.

Judging by that video, Sooz has even less idea as to what's going on that we have. If she thinks that's how you play "oh****oh****oh****oh****I'mgonnadieI'mgonnadieI'mgonnadieifIdon'tfindtheDoctor" she's WAY off. Seems more likely to me that she's not been briefed. Will be interesting for those who buy them to find out whether she can actually act when the audio plays come out.
As for the DWM strip, the artist has stated in an interview that he wasn't in contact with the writer and doesn't know if the notes he received from DWM and Bad Wolf contained any from her. I reckon that must be a big factor in why it wasn't any good.

The second part of Titan's effort wasn't bad. Similar thoughts to what I posted about the first issue further up the thread. I do think it felt more like a sequel to Missy's Titan series that Doom was a part of more than anything else. That isn't a bad thing in itself, after all it's how many of these multi-comic events work, but given how thin the preceding DWM instalment was, I think we're still missing that dedication to Doom as a character that presumably will emerge in the novel and subsequent audios.

The part of Doom's Day in Lost in Time mobile game started today as a limited event. So far it's the pretty standard paper-thin storytelling typical for the game. Although {Spoiler} Doom encounters 13 right from the get go. 13 doesn't seem to recognize her. I wonder if this means that 14 or 15 is the Doctor that Doom is looking for... Or maybe the Fugitive Doctor?

I'm not really 'bothered' about mobile-phone games, but have at least seen part of the story through Twitter (hopefully there'll a Youtube LP, no matter how brief), and it is most certainly a thing. Which exists... I will say though it was at least nice to see The Thirteen Doctor involved in this? {Spoiler} Or, as it turns out, Kamelion... Somehow.

Thanks for that! It’s the first bit of the event I’ve watched/read/looked at and while it didn’t do a ton for me (as I’d expect for a limited time event content on an idle mobile game), I did really like the idea of Kamelion and K9 traveling around together as a sort of AI Force.

I think I liked it a little bit more than screenshots on Twitter (considering it's, you know, moving), but it's definitely something that... Exists. I'm not going to question as to why Kamelion's suddenly alive now, but yeah, as pairings go? There are ones I'm going to question more.

That's longer than the Kindle preview, I can only assume it's quite a short book. And, alas, nothing about that opening grabs me. Where are the Doctors? Where are the Kraals and Slitheen?

Unlike my copy of part two of Titan's contribution, 'Extraction Point' arrived whilst I was out in London this afternoon, so will probably "only" be giving a chapter or two before bed...
Although it's been a while since I read either of them, at 227 pages, I believe that this is (around) the same length as the two TLV books?

Maybe it works better on the page. Sadly, Kemper herself is just letting this down every time she's involved. Playing it like it's CBeebies...but she's an assassin who "slips mickeys"? Costume department didn't help either. Looks like a bad cosplay of generic sci-fi with a monocle to add some faux-eccentricity.
Wheras Timelord Victorious was a mess, it had promise and some terrific iconography. This is just embarrassing. When the show's main socials share things from it, I'm cringing that this is going out to casuals at a time where the biggest attempt to regain a wider audience in years is just around the corner.
I don't even get the cross promotion part. Who's buying a full price BF boxset that isn't already a listener just for Doom? It's far too expensive for a newbie. Who's buying DWM that doesn't already for a (really bad) comic strip? Again, at least TLV was a bit cheaper with a one discer, one record and the likes.
I, honestly, don't understand ANY of this. I thought it would become more apparent as it unfolds. I just have more questions..and not in a good way. Baffling.

So part of me wanted to get the new novel so I read the opening hour’s short story to drum up internal interest but didn’t really like it at all. Surprisingly didn’t really do much of a job introducing the character in an appealing way nor in showing what’s at stake.

Its just such an odd choice she's a Left leaning Feminist Comic (by no means a bad thing) but to be the face of a cross-brand Family aimed example of the show and as previously stated the character is new and not guaranteed hook to start with.
