And here we go.
Official line from the WGA is to be cautious and trust no announcement fully until they put it up.

This is good news of course, and I hope the WGA committee really squeezed the execs, but we should temper a bit: the Guild still has to vote on this.
On a light note, among the many lessons and insider info hopefully non-industry people have learnt through this whole experience: if you do ever run a writer's room, don't order lunch from Tender Greens!

This is true but the fact that it’s a deal that the negotiating committee is willing to send to the guild at large is a good sign. Especially with people like Adam Conover being happy about it.

Well, fingers crossed. Now, a point of clarification: this deal is solely for the WGA. SAG is still on strike and next year, animation and IATSE (crews) have their contracts up for renewal, so see what happens and how this agreement will set the template for those.

It's the end, but the moment has been prepared for. At last, it's ratified.
Okay, not quite the end as now, SAG is up to the plate. Still standing with them and hope this only bodes well for their deal.

If anyone here is still in doubt about the need and value of these strikes, look what crap Disney is pulling.
On top of the ethical element, the AI extras just look horrid. Flat, rubbery and lifeless, and they think this is better than real extras.

No surprise, studios are back to the 'final offer' stunt they tried to pull with the WGA. htts://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/sag-aftra-ai-protections-for-high-earning-members-sticking-point-1235638247/
The fact that the AI is such a sticking point is not remotely surprising - I can't imagine the studios want to cede more ground there with what they invested into this (awful) technology.

The studios relented on AI and the strike is done.
