Hmm... trying not to lean too far out of the window... but I actually enjoyed Zagreus. And it is certainly much more memorable than Light at the End. Yes, Zagreus is not at all what everyone was expecting (this is why most were disappointed). I went in with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Light at the End... yeah, fun romp, but my guess is, when I re-listen again, I still won't remember a thing. Not even the Master made an impression, and I LOVE the Master.
Well, BF was third time lucky and at least Legacy of Time did live up to the expectations and then some.
And the Master certainly got his time to shine in the recent Ravenous 4 (and of course River 5).

The Dust Run / The Trial (B7 Audiobook)
I've just finished the first part, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a two-hander, and one of the "hands" is Benedict Cumberbatch.

Another listen for Storm of the Horofax - my fifth, I think. I could listen to Tim and Katy all day long. Have I ever mentioned how much I'd like the 3DAs to come out twice as often? lol

I'm a big Sword of Orion fan. I think the general atmosphere is superb, I rate the supporting cast, and don't get me started on Captain Jansen! It just shows how we all differ, because I think Storm Warning starts really well and goes downhill once they find the daft sounding alien in the cabin. Funny. That was exactly what I thought of Storm Warning when I first heard it. I agree the Triskeli are the weakest part of the story (unless you meant the Doctor by the daft-sounding alien in the cabin ), I just think Storm Warning is buoyed up by other stuff. But yeah to each their own, of course.

The Eternal Battle. I really like Sontarans when they are played straight and not as comedy villains. And Dan Starkey is doing a really good job voicing a whole army of them. The first half of this story is great, sadly it makes the mistake we have too often and it devolves into too much technobabble in the end.
And since Dan Starkey continues to impress me and I am in the mood for some more Who horror, I think I might continue with "the Scent of Blood". BBC audio. This one got really good reviews and Dan Starkey has been amazing doing all the different voices in previous audiobooks. He supposedly does a great 8th Doctor. Let's find out.

Scent of Blood is great. Nice little Who vampire tale, made great by the amazing performance by Dan Starkey. However, his 8th Doctor is by far not as good as his 12th.

FOUR times as often, then we're talking.

Listened to part of Dark Shadows The Legend Reborn this afternoon. The interview tracks were interesting, but the rest of the CD seems to be all sound tracks. If that's the case (and as lovely as the music is), I think I'll move on to an actual story.
Can anyone confirm, is the anything else on the CD besides the interviews at the beginning and the sound track?

The Creed of the Kromon
This story has held up my eighth Doctor marathon quite considerably. Firstly finding the will to start it in the first place, and then finding the will to resume it after being interrupted.
All because it’s so, so dull. It’s basically a dramatised plot summary. Ugh.

Yes, DS: The Legend Reborn is an interview and behind-the-scenes release, and not a dramatic release.

The rest seems to be soundtrack only, but I don't know if there's more interview after the sound track or if the rest is all soundtrack.

Dark Eyes S04E04 "Eye Of Darkness". Theoretically I should be able to start on Doom Coalition S01E01 tomorrow. Box sets have been collecting dust for months !

I think it suffers from being a bit safe. Whereas the previous anniversary special went too far with its risks and twists (glares angrily at Zagreus), The Light at the End feels a bit inconsequential, as all the Doctors do is figure out what’s going on and find a loop hole whilst the Master watches on. It’s a fun ride for what it is though. It's not an amazing story but as a good bit of fluff, it's a fun romp. Anyways.. On the schedule today - An Ordinary Life and either The Yes Men or a start on Crossover Adventure Production's Wonderful Wizard of OzHey so shoutout to grinch for recommending Wonderful Wizard of Oz because that was exactly what I want from a modern day adaptation of the book. They could literally take that script with minimal edits and turn it into a big budget movie and I'd love every second of it.

I believe they said they’re planning to adapt every book up until ‘Glinda of Oz’ so expect more to come in the future.

Re-listens for Randomoid Selectotron picks The Renaissance Man (good story and lovely to hear Tom in such good form on only the second outing) and Blake's 7 Fractures - I don't know why the full cast Blake's 7 stories seem to go in one ear and out the other for me, but I guess it's just as well, it's a brilliant story for keeping the listener guessing, which probably wouldn't happen if I remembered the reveal. :-)
